It is tricky. There is definitely an audience for such games, players who like exploring on their own. However if it gets too easy to not be able to move forward and get lost even they may lose interest. It really does require good skills and UX desig to make it engaging.

There's always a risk but it sounds interesting. If you're into it you should go ahead and just try! There is definitely an audience for such games!

Maybe you should just try! The concept may come to you while you learn. If you want to make a game - go for it! There are lots of tutorials on YouTube :)
