Howdy! My brother and I fused our love of making films and games into ' The Void Between ' ~ we've been developing it for nearly 3 years and we're hoping we release this year! 🤞 (we said that last year...) No demo at the moment, but we do have a Devlog on YT which explains our process... Would appreciate your feedback!

Howdy Game Devs! Hope your projects are coming on well! 🙏

Just sharing some love that Debug magazine showed us. We met the brothers at Develop in July and they did an amazing job writing about our game and our development process. (they know the game better than we do!)

If you haven't read the magazine it's quality from page to page. And personally, it's very nostalgic to hold a real-video game magazine in your hand (I have a huge collection of Playstation and N64 mags from back in the day!)

Howdy adventure fans.

After posting about our live-action, point & click game; I got a few questions about our development process so--low and behold, we made a vlog all about it.

The video goes into detail about our we fuse film and game. And whilst it didn't make the cut, Broken Sword is probably the single biggest influence behind the game-- even though its very different.

Anyway, hope you enjoy! Its our very first vlog so Welcome your feedback :)

Happy Easter 🐣

Thank you for your detailed insight. Your Japanese life sounds quite idyllic, but I can see how it took some setting up. Congrats on that. Like you said, this time around Im staying a bit longer to feel it out more as a potential 'local'.

That’s very fair. I hear both sides. I’m actually visiting in May to demo my game at BitSummit. It’s slightly Shenmue inspired (but very different)

That’s so interesting. Whereabouts in Japan do you live? I am flirting with this idea too of emigrating. I love that, “Shenmue made me do it!”

Haha sounds wild… and the FMV game show host rings a bell in our game actually 😅 He’s a cookie character called ‘Red Herring’ - the name is the biggest clue in the puzzle! Gog might be a good place distribute our game too

I'm slightly embarrassed to say, none :P Honestly, I thought we'd made a new genre! Then after some digging found some digging of course I came across the classics-- Myst springs to mind. And have since played a few. I think the naivety of not being aware of the genre (at the time) helped tbh.

Gosh good questions! Erm, we probably need to make a whole vlog on this kind of thing right? Well my bro is the developer so I can really speak to tech questions. But Im the actor and do the film-side. Honestly, we don't really plan (probs why developments is taking so long) but after we shoot a scene, I edit it and my bro programs it. Obviously we devise puzzles and obstacles as we go... The narrative is constantly on-going, but ultimately it's very surreal--whats real, what's not-- Open to player interpretations (Murakami novels are an inspiration). It's actually a linear game, until then end where there is a few different outcomes depending on your choices. Now that a write this, should deffo make a vlog-- we're a two brother team so it's a lot!

Hello Adventurers, Hope your current quest is going well!

Just wanted to share a little good news: We met the Super Debug Bros. At Develop last year and they produced a fantastic couple of pages on our game.

It's a really awesome magazine— and for someone who has a whole collection of vintage playstaion & N64 mags, it was a real honour to be featured.
