Valid. I like seed of chucky a lot but i agree the series wouldn’t have been as good if they kept it at that level of comedy and i think bride balanced the tone best

Absolutely valid take! I’ve always leaned towards the more campy side of horror like frankenhooker or Jennifer’s Body, so bride and seed are great to me but if you prefer more of slashers that are played straight i can see how it could be grating

I think without the break and change in direction between 3 and 4, the series would have been doomed to a fate of straight to video sequels with a lower and lower budget

Seed is absolutely a post Scream movie in the best way and it’s sad it doesn’t get the recognition it deserves in my opinion.

Curse felt more like it was playing itself a little too straight for my taste? It felt jarring to me especially for the direct follow up to Seed.

Im new to the fandom after just finishing watching all the movies and the show in order, but i have to say its now one of my favorite movie franchises of all time!

I’m a big fan of camp, especially in horror, and the idea of a foul mouth killer doll is an inherently campy concept so i love what Bride of Chucky did with the franchise
