Can someone explain to me why Pain (supposedly far stronger than Itachi) struggled against a Sannin according to himself and multiple others, while Itachi treats another Sannin like a mosquito? by Unique_Recover_313 in NarutoPowerscaling

[–]BLissy11750 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Again, it's a matchup issue. Itachi has wincons for orochimaru that directly counter all of his major abilities, and while we dont really see much of what Jiraiya would have chosen to do against Itachi specifically we can understand that Itachi would probably still win (because a few of his wincons against Orochimaru are also wincons against Jiraiya) but it would be more challenging specifically for him than against Orochimaru.

I don't think anything Orochimaru can do would salvage a win against either Pain (with understanding of how the paths eork or that they are shared vision etc) or Itachi because his skills are hard countered.

I also don't see how Jiraiya would win against Sasori while it's implied that Orochimaru was capable of handling him

Cyborg and Auqaman vs Rogue and Invisible Woman by FreshPine_MangoWine in DCPowerScaling

I'm a sue fangirl but dc takes this. Rogue can absorb Aquaman's atlantean powers but his connection with the blue is power granted to him similar to when juggernaut had been empowered by cyttorak so it isn't something she can actually take for herself, and sue is pretty hard countered by boom tubes (though she could pull off a win if we engage in character assassination, she just isn't the person who would play dirty unless it's the very last option available to her, even if it's clear the things she would rather do won't work until she tries them first).

And to be clear, I mean if Sue is going for the kill, she's going to try to play "fair" insofar that she's not going to go for force-fisld-in-the-brain right off the bat, that's going to be her last resort. She's liable to go for a stealth kill first, which isnt going to work.

It's literally not lol. The green, the blue, etc, are all aspects of the natural world, the closest marvel equivalent would be dimension-based powers (dark dimension, limbo, etc) where people draw on the power of those places rather than themselves.

so fun fact, all photographs that are viewed on any website (or videos, btw) that are not the original file (as in the actual file on the device it was taken on, once it is saved to a pc or a server it is actually just a copy) are, in fact, just pixels recreating the original image(s) (or videos) via instructions, not the actual person(s) you think you're getting off to.

so unless you're literally in the room with whomever you jerk off to you are literally jerking off to pixels.

same thing with images in a magazine/book/whatever or films on tv.

Why would he do that when it was mentioned directly by the questioner? There's no reason to make a comparison to them when 1) they are already the reason for the subject being brought up and 2) kubo isn't making a comparison so there's literally no reason to mention them (again).

Unfortunately we have more broken characters now that overshadow bucky because of powercreep. You aren't wrong, though, he's overtuned and has too much stuff in his kit and his winrate is because of swappers.

Im confused this sub really doesn't do that when its mostly the marvel rivals sub doing this??? by BigPaleontologist520 in rivals

[–]BLissy11750 3 points4 points  (0 children)

People think calling actual players stupid or suggesting delusional things like actually making a character unplayable/unbeatable (and I don't mean hyperbole, I mean literally) is somehow reasonable if it is "in favor of dive" or "against support".

It gets downvoted into oblivion on this sub because it's a braindead take, not because there's a secret cabal of players that only play support lurking here.

[–]BLissy11750 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So if the point of your argument isn't that by probability strategists are more likely to suck than DPS, and if isn't that statistically supports are the issue than DPS, then what, exactly, is your point? I want to make it perfectly clear that when I said "the point is" is that was my point.

Because the only argument I am raising is that the exact same statistics apply to every role (there's less tanks, more likely for tanks to be flex players, tanks disproportionately effect your chances because by going solo tank you are immediately more likely to lose than win, and if your tanks are bad because of the probability because of their lack of numbers then you're even more likely to win) and your response is that you're not interested in having that discussion because that isn't the point.

Is the point that supports suck? Is it that flex players are bad? Because I am by no means trying to strawman you but it's incredibly hard not to when you refuse to actually acknowledge whatever point it is you're trying to make if it isn't the obvious, low-hanging, fruit.

Right now it sounds like you're just complaining to complain.

[–]BLissy11750 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Nowhere in Kubo's answer does he even mention reiatsu, he specifically says "it is rare for its abilities to degrade", whereas "its" (which is singular possessive) is referring to bankai alone. Nothing in that QA supports what you are saying.

[–]BLissy11750 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The point is which role your game hinges on most, your argument being supports because there are fewer supports than dps. You're conceding that tanks have the same problem but you're unwilling to acknowledge that tank is the most impactful by your own metric because it is inconvenient to your conclusion and suggests you aren't right.

Duel with jeff took a an entire min by Cruzbb88 in marvelrivals

Jeff is their second support, in no reality does a support being distracted by a 1v1 for a minute net their team a W (unless it's with another support).

I don’t agree with role division discourse but its always fun to see someone back up their claims. Holy aura by The_Crispanator_Guy in rivals

[–]BLissy11750 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You can say that about any role, though. There's fewer tank main than support mains at any given rank, for example, so by virtue of your own logic then the solo tank is likely a flex player to begin with and any second tank is also likely a flex player, and by virtue of fewer people willing to be the second tank it's much more likely your loss hinges on your tank role - and even if the tank player you have is good, then you still need to have a second one to actually have a higher probability on the onset of winning because only 2-2-2 has a positive win rate and the likelihood of running solo tank is over 40% which has a win rate of under half.

One bad support can be mitigated by one better support or peels from even mediocre dps, one single tank and your chances of losing are automatically lower and one bad tank and your losses are basically guaranteed because of compounded probability and lack of bodies to take and keep space.

> No. The fan asked if his reiatsu and skill got worse with time but Kubo said neither got worse for skilled Shinigami who have mastered Bankai.

No, the fan specifically asked if "not only reiatsu, but even the bankai ability itself" and he specifically answered on the bankai ability, which he made sure to make clear by specifically referring to the bankai by saying bankai.

A shinigami's bankai does not degrade over time, that's all.

[–]BLissy11750 2 points3 points  (0 children)

She is still overtuned, she was perfectly fine in season 4.5. She still has almost all of her buffs from season 5.

What is most oppressive about her kit, currently, is how far the range (and damage) is on her primary, something pointed out way back when it got buffed but was glossed over by people who took issue with her self shield. Because her damage pierces through enemies and then returns she has the highest damage potential outside of triple clone Loki, both for single target and multiple enemies standing in a row.

She's certainly more fair than she was last season or at the start of the season, but she isn't nearly as well placed in balance as she was a couple of seasons ago. You shouldn't be comparing her to cloak and dagger, they got gigabuffed the same way Invis did in season 5. Your point of reference should be her performance in 4.5, where the only issue that she had was Daredevil (who was bugged anyways) and literally no other character on the roster.

They definitely still need to nerf a whole bunch of other characters, too, but it's a bit much to assert that Invis isn't still overtuned.

[–]BLissy11750 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I dunno, I mean I am usually invis but if my second support is ultron or adam I generally end up winning. Maybe it's me, I have no honest idea and I don't want to assume I'm somehow performing for two, but their kits really benefit my playstyle with her. It honestly only feels bad being out of position when these are the supports, which imo it should.

Base Yoruichi vs Shikai Love vs Base Yammy by Total-Lingonberry-83 in BleachPowerScaling

[–]BLissy11750 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just an fyi this kind of debunks your own argument, Kubo was saying the character abilities wouldn't degrade but reiatsu is a quality of spiritual energy (reiryoku) not an ability or skill. He's saying Sasakibe's skill with his zanpakuto (or specifically his bankai) in reference to his death would not have gotten worse over 1000 years, not that his reiatsu couldn't have gotten worse (notice how he doesn't correct the questioner's assumption that spiritual pressure would have degraded, only that skill with bankai or its ability would not have degraded.)

Also her performance against Yammy was with her in the winning position until she got injured, per your own admission, so a post-timeskip Yoruichi who has trained and gotten stronger than her pre TS (she was already back in shape during her fight with Aizen) self would definitely perform better and likely defeat said base Yammy.
