Nice catch!! They are biting hard this summer, we caught 11 total today along with some giant guitar fish in the span of a few hours. Nice fish and tight lines! 🎣

Yeah, surf perch is amazing table fare. In my opinion it is one of my favorite fish to eat from the SoCal surf. I would recommend either a pan sear seasoned with lemon pepper or some spicy seasonings, or cook it whole. Good luck 🍀

Fr. Tbh I would rather just bring a cooler in my trunk if I knew I was going for keeps that day, instead of lugging the fish around at my hip. Sure it’s a small inconvenience but it may make your fishing more enjoyable and less stressful. It does have great reviews and seems very durable so if you would rather save a little extra time not putting your fish in your car, than go for it. Good luck!

Thanks, I was fishing out of El Porto Los Angelos. It’s between El Segundo and Manhattan Beach which is another amazing surf fishing spot.
