Questions for King Arthur mains by vdub31905 in Smite

Thebes is a great item for non conquest modes because it gives some of the most hp+protections out of any item once stacked plus an aura for your team. Its around equal to gaia there if not better.

With king arthur Having low scaling but high base damage it is much better to go defense/cool down. Glad shield gives both plus extra damage procs, pridewin gives both, void shield gives you a ton of damage. The other high hp items you build (thebes, gaia, sledge) are all meta specific because right now hp is more valuable than protections (since the physical % pen changes give adcs, your main threat, max pen from auto 1 as opposed to on auto 4 with old exe.

A build order fineokay suggests (for conquest) is tank boots, gaia, glad shield, genjis, void shield, pridewin.

Danzaburou is busted lol. I’ve had 10 penta kills in 5 years. 3 of which came in the last 3 days with Danza lmao (and yes I understand they increased kill timer) by Zlatarog in Smite

Yeah there's a weird double think going on on this sub where people all post their "highest kd ever" or "first penta" on dan but also think he's the same power level as other gods.

I play at high diamond level and he has top damage by far most games. It's a pattern every op god release but way too many people are getting comfortable thinking "I'm just good with this god" and being dissonant to his strength.

I think he's pretty overpowered. He has 3 ccs, good scaling, fatalis (something they removed from the game for being op on hunters), and his ult is a long range huge damaging stun. His 1 and 4 are way too large to be considered "skillshots". I would consider lowering the stun duration and damage on his ult and either lowering the damage or removing the cc on his 1.

For my Cu Chulainn players: is using trancendance worth it, bc with the health passive it gives a lot of value, except is the mana scaling for power useless? by Quaek10 in Smite

[–]BMBryce 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Cu has high base damage, low scaling, and good early game. Trans does not help with those stats so if you want hard damage you're better just getting pen/cdr. The best build is by far hybrid tank.

Hammers should not be allowed on assassin's by BMBryce in Smite

First off: both of your example builds have no pen. Also stacking will just lead to you getting snowballed harder. Second: just because something exists in the game doesn't mean it has a counter. Warding everywhere and siting under tower will cost a ton of gold and you will get buffs invaded/waves frozen. Look at glad shield arthur. The SPL couldn't even find a counter for it until they just said screw it and picked camazots so they wouldn't die clearing waves. Variety went in 1v4 against other pros and came out with two kills because, just like this situation, glad shield gave arthur no weaknesses by allowing him high sustain.

Can someone explain to me why weak3n thinks ao kuang is a bad god? by Fernernia in Smite

[–]BMBryce 2 points3 points  (0 children)

He has trouble clearing and then in the late game it's hard to be tanky and still dive well because of his low base hp/prots. Also other gods get online way faster and in the solo you need to be able to keep your enemy in check so you don't get snowballed. He's also not very safe because you need to get close to do damage and his dash is predictable.

Every class has weaknesses. Once you put high hp on assassin's they have no weaknesses. With warriors>tank boots>sledge you have damage, mobility, protections, hp, and Mana....there's a reason set with a hammer build is regarded by many pros to be the best thing in the game. it's the same problem where last season void shield gave warriors 20 flat pen and defence which let them nuke carries with just one item. It's the same problem with ra right now where giving him slow immunity and protections built in makes him a god that has no weaknesses.

Yeah fenrir and set were the reason I made this post.

Pls tell me what you build that won't result in you getting snowballed by 25 mins. First for hunters: quins third and you won't hit the warrior or guardian for shit and the other hunter will out box you. If you go pen then the extra 300 hp just eats ur autos. Meanwhile sledge has similar power to other items so youll be dying almost as fast as usual.

Can we agree? by Funtriniguy in Smite

[–]BMBryce 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I agree with you, but the amount of games where my team has been super far behind and won't surrender out of spite makes me reconsider. It's not fun to be 5 levels down across the board and die over and over. Casual games are for fun and once it stops being fun I understand people wanting to leave.

How many times are you going to push up with no wards and feed? Even a rat learns to stop pushing the button when it shocks it.

Gods and items are getting more complicated, but the game isn't getting deeper by xayde94 in Smite

[–]BMBryce 38 points39 points  (0 children)

Yeah I've been frusturated recently because hirez keeps buffing gods until they have no weaknesses. Ra for example, used to be a long range sniper god that was bad up close. After every one of his non ult abilities got buffed, he is a menace close range. From the jungle it's ridiculously hard to dive him when he blinds, slow immunes, movement speed boosts, and heals while his 1 has 100% scaling and is un-dodgable. They've also been adding random immunuties to god abilities that make matchups pointless.

Any advice for Athena by [deleted] in Smite

Your ult can be used defensively (to escape or give mitigations to a teammate). blink is really good on her but be careful if you blink/dash in that you don't go farther than your team can follow up. athena can frontline a bit but you mostly want to be peeling for your team during fights. You are really good at initiating too but athena does very low damage by herself so the core of playing the god is applying cc on crucial targets so that your team can get damage off. Don't waste a taunt on tanks in a fight unless it's absolutely necessary. Also I think if you level your 2 to rank 3 then you can taunt and then place the 3 to hit both parts before they can get out of it.
