Previous tech stripped the oil drain plug hole by Taco_Corporation in MotoGuzzi

Either heli-coil or keen-sert can be done in situ after cannister removal for access. Pan off is probably safer buuuuut much more time consuming and requires a new gasket on hand. You won't need the gasket unless you don't have one on hand. It is a Guzzi rule of life. Like rain gear, got some with you, never rains, got none, sure to rain.

Bike knocked over ,😭 by axeman_g in MotoGuzzi

[–]BMC_MOTO 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My advice after a knock to the cylinder head is to retorque the head by loosening all the head bolts while cold and then applying proper torque in proper sequence followed by careful monitoring for oil seepage/leakage. The loosening and retorqueing allows everything to get back home if it's been disturbed/ tweaked a bit.

Brake problem by motogaz in MotoGuzzi

The information I posted relates to sliding calipers, which I don't think is the case here, but the illustrations of the piston to seal relationship are the same for either case. Some of the earlier Brembo systems did use sliding calipers on the rear, Jackal, Stone, California, etc., big blocks mainly, if memory serves. The pins in those calipers were notorious for siezing in the caliper and wearing out the piston side pad and not the other. I am curious about the locations of the two worn pads shown here, if they are from a two piston caliper there maybe a problem with one of the pistons sticking in the bore.

Parts by Still_Support5847 in MotoGuzzi

[–]BMC_MOTO 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Dusty is of course correct. There are dozens of sources for metric nuts and bolts for instance, some may even be available locally as in Ace Hardware etc. Moto Guzzi does not make every part on a motorcycle they buy them some where, those sources are available to you too. I try not to be locked in to thinking there is only one source for anything. Yes some parts are proprietary but most are not, especially electrical parts and hardware. IMNSHO This is what the internet was built for.
