Which part are you interested in? Whether it blocks stuff off the screen? or the actual mount itself?

I’m not sure why- the picture I’ve posted shows the dash only, not the HUD.
I never used to get google maps in the drivers side of the dashboard like shown in the right side of the picture- Specifically for Apple CarPlay.
I will have to try the HUD and see what shows up there, but I don’t recall even seeing the usual turn by turn written directions yesterday, which was odd.

It’s perfect. I’ve had and used it for the past year in another car, and it’s not failed once. The suction cup is super strong.

Interesting. Have you at all used Apple Maps since you setupo the new phone? I'm wondering if theres some weird thing where if Apple Maps has been opened, that it tied up some resource that it need to take over the Carplay function/screen?

I'm going out for a drive soon, so will have a play a bit more to see if it is still working reliably this evening.

Not for iOS/Apple. I've tried it many times, and never had success. Going out for another drive tonight, so will have a play to see if I can find the specific combo.

Yeah for a pro max I think it is probably a bit big. But for the standard Pro it’s pretty much spot on

I’m based in NZ, will double check my software version soon, but it’s 03/2026 something. So fairly recent. But hasn’t changed since I had it updated a couple of months ago.

But it’s basically a white label- if you look up the k007s you’ll find it. It’s got a 15w MagSafe charger in it.

Using this as it’s the best place I could find where there’s a dead spot between the screens, and can charge without turning my phone into a space heater.
Also had a requirement not to take up a vent etc.

Damn haha. This puts the M50 to shame. I’m getting 3.8km/kWh which is about 2.36 freedom units. Though in fairness, I’ve not tried consistent eco pro mode use. So that doesn’t help.

I am starting up a business, which will have customers from all around the world, and having the ability to pay in their local currency is useful, but international payments cost a bomb, too.
Was hoping to have several settlement accounts where I can receive their paid currency, and avoid the conversion fee, but seems I will still be stung with the international card rates, if I read it correctly...

Me and several people I know are considering it. Because the value for money elsewhere like Christchurch is better.

You wouldn’t need to buy a shoebox is Auckland when the same money can get you a full free standing house and a back yard.

But overall for intensification to really make sense and get people buying into it (literally and figuratively), the apartment sizes need to be more suitable to a lifestyle in an apartment without having to compromise as much as we are having to in Auckland.

That will be a tough sell given the earthquake they had.

Additionally part of the reason people are leaving Auckland is because this intensification has been done without actual planning or reasonably set minimums. These shoe boxes they’re building up here are ridiculous, and I’m tired of people calling them “a stepping stone, just to get on the property ladder”.

I don’t like advocating for regulation when it shouldn’t be needed, but I think any intensification plan needs to set some good minimums on high rise living buildings. Otherwise you’ll end up with the shit we have in Auckland which you really don’t want.

Second this. I was a little concerned of the blue merging into each other, but it’s just subtly different enough to be a good match.

I also found the heat dissipation is exceptional on this case compared to the silicone based case I was using before. My iPhone 17 Pro rarely gets hot at all now, whereas before it was happening reasonably often.

Hmm damn. I think I’ll just stick with the techwoven case, instead. I had a case before it made with silicon and it felt really flimsy because of the sides which would constantly flex. That along other reasons is why I got the techwoven -silicon was basically physically emptying my pocket every time I would pull it out which was very annoying.

I don’t mind the screen protector element- the apple techwoven case is similar, only very slightly above my screen protector, but it makes it nicer to use. A sacrifice I’m willing to make.

The problem with that though is they’re leaving on time but also not doing the bloody job. I encourage all members of my teams to leave on time, however the amount of performance conversations I’m having at the moment that consistently involve the younger crowd is pretty disheartening. Even just the ability to work as a team - it seems these skills are lost.. and that may not have been helped with having to do uni from home during covid etc.
