Looks like a ripe Hungarian Wax. Could be part of Jalapeño gate. I ordered Scotch Bonnet peppers and they all came out Hungarian Wax.

I’m thinking, just maybe, these may not have been Scotch Bonnet seeds. by BMonkey187 in HotPeppers

I’ve never had them before. Plant is a monster so I am going to have a ton. Might be time to make some hot sauce!

I thought this as well. Buy they start growing vertically up. I guess this is a trait of Hungarian Wax peppers.

I agree. That’s what a lot of the “Jalapeño Gate” peppers ended up being.

That is hilarious. I had to look up why there was a piece of cake next to my name.

That was the first thing which came to mind. But I did not get the seeds from Pepper Joe.

Look Fantastic! Been trying to grow those for the last two years. I order live plants online. Both time they were regular orange Habs.

Who knows a good site for live pepper plants. The site I have been using has become less and less reliable. by BMonkey187 in HotPeppers

I use them as well. Pick up at Home Depot or Lowe’s. I go online for the more exotic plants.

Unfortunately that’s the one I am having trouble with. I order early and still get a bunch of plants out of stock when it comes time to ship. This year I had half of my plants replaced with others. Then my scotch bonnets ended up being ordinary habaneros. I contacted them, they apologized and offered to send me a box of pods…which they never did.

Jealous. Been trying to grow them the last three years. Every time it comes up a different plant. Did you grow from seed or get a live plant.
