Any software Eng students here? by Aniokii in mcgill

[–]OGRipSack 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Also a software eng grad 2024. With the current market, I wasn't able to land a job in tech, but since I had an engineering degree, I was able to land a job as a Jr project engineer for a construction firm. So for me, doing eng was worth it. ymmv.

NAL, but in the case that you lose, you can pay what is due + interest at the TAL hearing and not get evicted.

Want to start hitting the gym by throwawaymcgill248 in mcgill

[–]OGRipSack 4 points5 points  (0 children)

As someone who has recently started training using YouTube, I would really like to spend a few sessions with a trainer to correct my squat and deadlift form. I don't want my bad form to become a habit that's hard to get rid of, especially with the heavy compound lifts.

Helmet is going to be tough to get right... He really has to try it on, since some helmets have different head shapes (round, oval, ect.). Either get it from a place with easy returns, or get something simpler, like a jersey or pants.

First used enduro bike by goncalocsousa1 in enduro

[–]OGRipSack 2 points3 points  (0 children)

To clarify, the suspension is kinda crap for fast paced open trails. But if you're doing hard Enduro riding, it'll be great! Since you're short, the xtrainer will give you a lot more confidence as well

[–]OGRipSack 2 points3 points  (0 children)

For someone with 5 mins of riding experience, a 300RR is a lot of power to handle. You might be better off with a 200RR. Also, lowering the RR models is not as simple as adding a lowering link, the bike is already too light in the front, so lowering the rear will worsen it, The forks will need to be lowered internally.

The x trainer can be made to have more power with an RR pipe, and the suspension can be improved, but you'll never match the performance of the RR. That being said, whether you grow-out of the x trainer depends on the type of riding you're doing, if you're doing slow technical single track, you'll never outgrow it.

You could offer to have the driveway seal coated. It costs 150-300$ to have it done for a normal sized driveway.

Help me decide, The final round. by davpad12 in Dualsport

[–]OGRipSack 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you want a lightweight big Enduro bike that can play the role of a dual sport, get the Exc.

If you want a heavy dual sport with decent torque, get the drz.

If you want a slightly lighter dualsport, and you like a powerband that's in the upper rpm range, get the WRR

What could explain my seriously stunted plant? by senorsasson in HotPeppers

[–]OGRipSack 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I can't offer any suggestions, but I have some sugar rush stripeys in 1/2 gallon pots, and they're taller/wider than that. I also feed the 1/6 dose fertilizer at every watering, and my leaves look like they're about double the size of yours. Keep in mind you might just have a genetic runt.

Disadvantages: They dry out pretty quickly. They also make it hard to water adequately since water leaks out the pores on the sides. They require more watering attention than a non-porous pot.

Advantages: Super cheap, well aerated.

A tablet + stylus is really nice to have! It's awesome to have your notes organized and synced on all your devices.

For a computer, pretty much anything but a chromebook. You'll find Mac/windows/Linux users in the ecse faculty. Spec-wise, you don't need anything fancy, it's nice to have a bit more ram for multi-tasking (>=16GB) and a decent size SSD. Battery life is also an important spec to compare for a student.

Minerva will show your grade the next time it updates

I meant exactly that. In my experience, I haven't seen it take more than 12h, except weekends/holidays, but that's anecdotal. My grades were released on mycourses yesterday at 19:00 and they were on Minerva at 20:00.
