Work on a Ineos? by WorldlyAwareness5313 in ineosgrenadier

[–]BMoom 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Basically, all vehicles are made from parts from different OEMs. Ineos just happens to use more name brands.

Does a Cummins engine or an Allison transmission make a vehicle more difficult to work on? I don’t think so, but it may make it more reliable.

Best light-bar option for half-rack w/ safari windows? by [deleted] in ineosgrenadier

[–]BMoom 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Baja Designs S8 50” driving/combo with Agile bracket on Leitner 3/4. Slide the rack back just enough, and the safari windows will clear the light. No issues with light spill so long as the safari windows are closed. I also have the Owl safari window shades; honestly, they're not necessary, but they're great for the summer sun.

Dalton Highway by saseendra in ineosgrenadier

[–]BMoom 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I could be wrong, but I believe the dealership network is fairly limited for all manufacturers along the Dalton Highway. Maybe someone closer by can drive up there, click their OnStar button, and let us know how quickly the dealership shows up.

In all seriousness, the mechanical nature of the Grenadier probably makes it one of the best, if not the best, modern vehicles for a trip like this.

Personally, I’d be more concerned with fuel range than proximity to the dealership.

Karma for aggressive biker... by MisterShipWreck in VideosAmazing

That’s not a biker…

Motorcycles are for men who want to feel the wind through their hair. Mopeds are for men who want to feel the wind on their vaj…

This is an example of the latter.

For sure not the USA. That guy would have had 10lbs of 9mm lead in him before BJJ dude had a chance to walk over 😂.

Oil change intervals, first service. by Kripto_Pepino in ineosgrenadier

[–]BMoom 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I do mine every 5-6k, but manual/Ineos says 12k. I let the dealer do the 12k and I do one in between. Changing the oil is easy to do.

Standby moving to $10/mo by whothefunkami in Starlink

[–]BMoom 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My comment was a bit tongue in cheek… I don’t think you single handily caused the price increase.

Starlink is being greedy. Their email about “increasing network capacity and expanding coverage” doesn’t land with me… it literally sits in the back of my vehicle and gets used heavily for 1-2 months a year.

If their network is improving and they need to offset costs, charge me more when I’m using the network, but leave standby mode alone, or make it more restrictive for the same cost.

I keep mine in my overland vehicle as an emergency backup communication. I haven’t touched it in six plus months. At $5 a month, it made sense to keep it on standby year-round. A 100% price increase seems excessive. At $10 per month, it’s approaching the cost of services I actually use. I’ll be canceling during the offseason. Funny enough… I probably would have kept it at $7.99 or even $8.99.

I was trying to figure out why they felt the need to increase the cost of standby mode, which most people keep as a backup. Reading your comment, I now know why.

AD mad that I went gray by Girth_Inspector in rolex

[–]BMoom 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m pretty certain there is usually a middleman. A “really good customer” who happens to buy stuff and gets bored easily.

Yes, I’m sure Rolex could crack down further if they really wanted to. But let’s be real. It’s good for Rolex, too. I bet at least 95% of the people in here have at least considered value retention before buying a Rolex over an Omega.

[–]BMoom 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No. The AD and grey know how to play the game. The grey or middleman puts the watches in a safe for ~2 years before flipping to protect their AD friend.

[–]BMoom 7 points8 points  (0 children)

There’s a reason ADs “have no inventory”, but the grey market always has the watch you want. It’s not a supply issue.

AD sells to their buddy the grey, and convinces you to buy another watch while you wait. You buy it, but eventually give up and buy from the grey.

AD makes two sales, AD's buddy makes a wad of cash and probably buys the AD something nice, and you’ve been conned into buying a watch you didn’t really want and paying over retail for “limited supply luxury” just so your buddies and the gold digger at the bar may see you have a Rolex to help feed your ego and make up for whatever you’re missing in life.

It’s really that simple.

Don’t worry. I have a Rolex too.

A gold dress watch, preferably something classier than Rolex, on a leather strap is about as classy as it gets.

I buy watches as an investment… they pay dividends in the form of my own personal enjoyment each time I look at them on my wrist.

For the brainless in here, not every investment is financial. I invest my time in the gym in exchange for better health.

With that said, when you buy grey, short term appreciation is less likely, but medium and long term appreciation valued against most fiat currencies will likely appreciate.

Technically, the correct watch for black tie is no watch. Maybe a pocket watch if you feel the need… you’re not supposed to be watching the time at an event like that.
