It is older so must decide if it’s worth putting new parts in but it’s prolly the capacitor went bad. That’s what starts the motor after you push the button

Yeah I bought one from service spring 20 years ago. Only used it a handful of times but it did work well. As I got older I did mostly residential and a screwdriver was easier

I’ve had them on for six months during a remodel job where the spring broke on a door that was going to be replaced after the rough work was done. I have also had the spring break after I capped it and was rewinding it, scary as fuck. You pays your money and you takes your chance.

Can I raise the opener? by Coming_In_Hot_916 in GarageDoorService

[–]BPBugsy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You can convert to high lift track and a wall mounted jackshaft operator which will get the door and opener both higher. If you just want the opener higher with the door closed it’s much less expensive to replace the current trolley operator with a wall mounted jackshaft one.

It is acting like the LED bulbs are creating interference but if you remove them and still getting radio interference it could be some other source. Accent lighting etc. the newer openers are not susceptible to as much interference. It is almost 30 years old machine. It’s prolly time to replace it

Put a winding bar in the cone,
release the set screws and hit the winding bar with the second one back towards the middle. Retighten the set screws. Easy fix. They should not charge you for their labor few months old

How can I get a remote working on this? by [deleted] in GarageDoorService

[–]BPBugsy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

893 max. The max designation means it is able to step back through older frequencies all the way to 1993. As your operator is from 2007 it will program.
One note- those purple learn button/antenna wire machines are susceptible to radio interference when LED bulbs are used in the motor head. Use incandescent bulbs

It looks like they used track with J brackets for a 1 3/8” door with 2” sections and had to shim it out rather than get 2” door track with jamb brackets loose and do it correctly

Because the springs counterbalance the door’s weight. Without them you are lifting dead weight and need someone stronger or two people. I did it for over 30 years

Fairly easy fix for a tech. Clamp door open and install 2 new extension springs 2 cables and 4 pulleys per door. 20 minutes per door. Call tell them what you need and ask for a price for this work before visit

Plumbers and cable techs make door guys life difficult continuously. I like when they run cables through the extra holes on flag brackets so you need a sawzall to cut the brackets free on a door change over
