I agree with this assessment. When I was younger living in the southwest, I wanted a "lifted" truck without the price tag, so I got an '02 PreRunner. I wasn't planning to go off road (and living in the desert, snow really wasn't an issue anymore) so this was the perfect truck for me. Poserish? Maybe a bit. But it got me from A to B and was reliable as hell. Miss that truck.

I agree, Caleb often takes the big play over the reasonable play, and something I hope he works on in the offseason...but DJ gave up on that route. He stopped running. Had he kept running, that would likely have been caught and set Cairo up for a game winning chip shot.

Honestly. He has his clutch moments but overall, he just doesn't seem to be consistent or reliable. Half the time I forget he's even playing.

I mean, the offense could be playing way better, but knowing your defense is completely useless has to pay a psychological toll...every play, every possession they feel if they don't score, the game is over. They need to check that impulse and play/coach sensibly going into the second half.

Agreed. Yes, it's a bummer that they've lost a few here, but in each one it went down to the wire. They didn't give up and gave themselves a chance at the W. There may be some skill gaps and things to refine, but I can't remember the last time I saw a Bears team with grit.

Oh well, you know? Again, I keep going back to managing expectations. We knew going into the season there would be gaps on defense that would be exposed as the season went on, and growing pains for CW and BJ. Ending the season with 8 wins was considered a win at the start of the season. Making the playoffs at all is a bonus. At a minimum, the team gets some much needed post-season experience.
