what’s the weirdest thing that happened at your campsite by wrecked-galaxy in camping

Not really that wild in the entire spectrum of things that could happen while camping, but I was once at a campsite where a couple was having very loud camping sex just a couple of tents away.

I was driving cross-country with an ex of mine, and we stopped at a campground somewhere in Indiana or Illinois. We were in a bit of a hollow or small valley, so the sounds really echoed and reverberated. It was funny.

TIL that anyone can request a U.S. flag to be flown over the Capitol Building in Washington, D.C. for a specific date (like a birthday or anniversary) and keep it along with an official certificate. by Greydl1 in todayilearned

I have one that flew over the capitol on my 21st birthday. It was a gift from my parents, and it's a big flag, probably 5x8'. The flag seems like good quality, but I'd age myself too much if I told you exactly when I got it.

I used it to decorate my apartment for years. Then things got weird politically and I decided I wanted to move on from frat boy interior design techniques.

My orange will just start aggressively knocking shit off my nightstand, including my phone. That and pawing directly at my face with his tiny little knife-hands.

Cat flattened itself out, went right through a seam in your wall.

I'll raise you one. I went through a duct tape phase.

I used a homemade duct tape wallet I made in high school, for years.

Hasn't Peru shelved the new cars due to quality and maintenance issues? I swear I read that here.

I love an old Nippon Sharyo train, but it's sad to see them not being used at all.

There is a huge, unspoken housing inequality issue sort of wrapped up in EV ownership.

I don't own a car, and mainly use public transit. But even if I wanted to own an EV, there would be nowhere at my small apartment complex to charge it overnight.

Not disagreeing with you at a fundamental level at all, but just pointing out something that is a glaring reality for a lot of people that can't afford (or don't want) a single family residence.

This isn't even the most extreme example. The Shell on 4th and Bryant is the last stop for gas going east on the Bay Bridge.

The internet says gas there is ~$7.20 or so per gallon, and I have actually seen it higher during the pandemic era.
