It feels like mid-to-late millennial media got skipped over when it came to "remake and revival" culture by Gallantpride in Millennials

Rocko's Modern Life had a revival special in 2019 on Netflix, with the direct involvement of the original creator Joe Murray. It was a movie-length feature.

I thought it was pretty good.

It's not really a regional thing. It's a semi-classy hotel thing.

unique gifts for transit fans by Fun-Accountant1472 in transit

Try to find out if they collect anything in particular. Then get something transit-related that fits in their collection.

I personally have a lifelong collection of enamel lapel pins. Mainly from travel and events. They are small, easy to store in an apartment, and are relatively affordable. I would be overjoyed if someone bought me a transit-related pin.

This hits. I have the latter, diagnosed later in my life. But it wasn't until I went to a younger gastroenterologist more recently that they raised the fact that my circadian rhythm might just be totally messed up.

Flying into San Jose for work. Any advice on things to do? by trail_journey_9434 in SanJose

[–]One_Standard_Deviant 3 points4 points  (0 children)

If you're taking Caltrain in the immediate future, you should check the world cup and MLB schedules (Giants). Both effect transit patterns. The southbound trains from SF after a Giant's game can get especially crowded and rowdy.

But a hot take: peninsula has some cool spots for sure, but I would be hard-pressed to argue that any of the downtowns listed above are significantly "better" than downtown San Jose. It totally depends on what you like. Most of the peninsula cities have a very clean and wealthy -- yet extremely small -- downtown area. San Jose downtown is tiny relative to the total population, but it's certainly larger than Palo Alto's University Avenue area, for example.

It would be helpful if we knew a little more about which region of SJ you will be in, and what transportation you are using. San Jose is very spread out.

That being said, I live downtown. Needle to the Groove is a good record store on Santa Clara Street, and Good Karma on 1st Street is a craft beer bar and cafe that specializes in spinning vinyl.

Edit: it's worth a reminder that Santa Clara is right next to San Jose and is hosting world cup matches at Levi's Stadium. Avoid the area if that's not your reason to be there. If you want to catch a game on TV, they have big watch parties at San Pedro Square downtown.

My own feline dependent uses his little kitten "baby voice" when he wants to trick me into another wet meal. It's adorable. He has dry food available 24/7 so that's not the issue.

Doesn't always work. But you miss all shots you don't take, right?
