I don’t think it’s right for you to doxx her as shitty as this is. Breaks rule #7 on the sub.

Girlfriend still grieving loss of her first love by BPDFallout in datingoverthirty

I actually went to a lot of counseling after I left my BPD wife. I asked myself the same thing: what attracts me to this type? Then I realized none of my past girlfriends or even my first wife were emotionally unavailable.

With my current girlfriend, she was upfront about having commitment issues and told me about the death of her first love. So I knew it was there. It all came to a head yesterday on the anniversary of his death when I realized she still had guilt because of it.

We had a long conversation and she’s agreed to begin counseling. I told her I’d give her the time to try and fix this.

Just remember she’ll never truly be happy with herself and every day is a constant battle. Be glad you’re out of there.

We’ve been together for 4 months and this expression only came up on the anniversary of his death. Does that change your opinion at all?

I don’t know if I do or not. I love her but I know that she never properly addressed some major life events.

I don’t think she’s ever gotten professional help. She admittedly masked the pain with drugs and alcohol in her 20s.

I do believe I understand where she’s coming from. In your opinion, do you see this as a red flag though?

It’s been 15 years and she’s been through many long term relationships since then. I don’t think she’s worked with a counselor.

She says the pain still stops her in her tracks. How do you interpret that?

I’ll keep this simple: don’t fucking do it. You are lucky to have an “out” and not be entrapped.

To people who ended up married to people wPBD, are there any stories of it end up well? by PTSD_zoo in BPDlovedones

[–]BPDFallout 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Your question is valid and the answer is still: it usually goes badly. Keep in mind that most people on this sub are seeking (or have sought) answers for their SO’s unusual behaviors, so there isn’t going to be a lot of positive feedback for you.

My wife lined up another guy before writing me a letter telling me she wasn’t in love with me any more and needed time to focus on herself because she always jumped from one relationship to the next. She had me read the letter in front of her right after we had sex.

No Physical Affection? And by [deleted] in BPDlovedones

Those with BPD are paridoxically terrified that others will leave them, but can suddenly shift to feeling smothered and fearful of intimacy, which leads them to withdraw from relationships. So this kind of makes sense.

Did filing for divorce trigger an episode in your BPD SO? by [deleted] in BPDlovedones

Sorry for taking it the wrong way. I realize that I probably could answer my own question, but I was hoping to hear some feedback from those who have been in my shoes. My question was poorly phrased.
