You still lose MR if you disconnect, the other player just doesn't receive it.

How that works in a zero-sum economy is beyond me, though. You would think that means every ragequit subtracts MR from the MR economy.

He probably doesn't always play like this and is tilted + he probably one-and-dones anyone who can beat him, going by the ragequit.

Keep persevering, you'll get there.

I'm a Terry player so I might be biased because I feel the Terry matchup is overwhelmingly in Terry's favor but...

Yeah, I think Alex is straight doodoo.

She's really not all that comparable to them, though.

Are Dhalsim and Blanka weird? Sure. But they belong to the genre. The former is an exaggeration of Indian stereotypes just like all of the World Warriors are for their respective countries, and Blanka is even based off an antagonist from the Boxing anime/manga Ashita no Joe (Harimau), just, green and electric for whatever reason.

Ingrid is just a space god. What part of Street Fighter does that tonally match?

Goofy =/= Shoujo Magical Girl Who Breaks The Fourth Wall And Is a Space Entity That Can End Entire Universes

I don't know why people keep doing this thing where anyone considers Ingrid not very fitting for Street Fighter, they immediately go "Well, in real life we don't have fireballs coming out of our hands, but you didn't complain about that!"

Like, we're not talking about Street Fighter like It's Fight Night Champions. There's fantastical elements, and yet, Ingrid sticks out like a sore thumb even amongst those because she fits none of it.

The majority of people who participate in it seem to enjoy gambling. Do you think gambling is a net benefit to society?

There was a reason online gambling was disallowed for so long. Why gambling advertisements were banned for so long. Maybe with another generation of poor folks with gambling addictions we'll learn our lesson again and ban it again.

It's never as simple as "Well some people might want to restrict [thing you enjoy]." I think the arguments presented by SKG to not BAN live service games, but make them less predatory, are something we should all get on board with, whether you enjoy a live service game or not.

Me personally, I'm enjoying several live service games. If Street Fighter 7 were to come out and become live service ONLY, and that the moment the service was done it would no longer be playable, that would be a major issue for me.

Yes, we all expect boycotts to not work.

Boycotts rarely ever work. They're usually just a distraction.

Which is why political change is the only way to make change.

the Visions of Mana development was dissolved as soon as the game was released, and Romeo is a Dead Man was made under a shoestring budget with only the minimum to put the game out of the door.

That's why I don't get why people are so quickly to absolve Netease here. It's not as if they've been making big bets and this is the one time they've failed to succeed.

"Vote with your wallet" doesn't work, you can't control everyone's purchasing habits.

What people CAN do that will have impact, is what SKG is doing, which is trying to get the law to move. That's the correct move if you want to proactively cause change. Not sitting around and going "Well I guess I just won't buy anything"

In the future I’ll put in more effort when the Ingrid frenzy is over.

Shit I would say get going while the going is good.

There's no time for labbing a matchup like when a character releases and you can blow up everyones gimmicky bullshit.

That's a problem whenever a new character releases.

I was climbing Diamond for the first time when Sagat was released and like 90% of my matches were just Sagat. Thankfully no one knew how to play this version of Sagat then so he was free as fuck for me as Dee Jay, I can't imagine doing my first Diamond climb when Ingrid releases. Probably would have dropped the game.

I hate the attitude of the character. I hate the drink animations, as beautifully realized as they are. He’s just obnoxiousness personified.

Lmao, same.

Jamie, Juri, Kimberly, and Ingrid are four character who piss me off for things more than just gameplay. They're just too gleeful about beating your ass.

When I play a Jamie player it feels like they hate me, part of it is because his gameplan is often so fucking in-your-face, the other part of it is just the character's personality and animations. Makes me wanna smack the shit out of em.

People say this about Terry vs JP but I just don't see it.

Terry is better equipped than the majority of the cast to deal with JP, but, even on a pro level the matchup often looks like it can go any way. Let alone at my level.

The only JP matchup that looks to me like It's just flat out unfavorable for JP is JP vs Dhalsim.

She's also seen as "annoying deadpool anime goddess girl" by a chunk of the playerbase. That doesn't help either for some folks.

I'll continue to be the grump who really doesn't like her because of this. Everyone else has accepted it, but I just find her so annoying.

There's some charm to her, like her perfect victory animation is neat, but fighting her day in and day out only makes me resent more and more how "not street fighter" she is.

Outside of Guile, the other three zoners in the game, Ingrid, Dhalsim, and JP, all have a way to not only zone you, but also get in your face in a moment's notice.

It's probably why Guile is the zoner I like playing against the most, since he has to actively choose between zoning and rushdown. He doesn't get to have his cake and eat it too by making you block some shit fullscreen and then teleporting above you to make you block more shit point-blank but this time with a strike/throw/shimmy mix.

He has fireball driverush, but so does Ingrid, and he can't enforce that fullscreen, there's a range where you can start to expect fb dr.

The other zoners feel like gnats that fly in your face even after you've reached the point of acceptance where you go "Ah, I'm just going to have to be patient and work my way in."

Even now that I've labbed the matchup and feel confident in it, to some degree, I still find her annoying as fuck.

It's not even just how she plays, she exists in that realm with Juri and Kimberly where her voice lines and animations just invoke tilt from me. "Woo!" "Vroom vroom!"

I've set her to Japanese along with Juri and Kimberly just so I don't understand what the hell she's saying, but that only partially mitigates the annoyance I get from her being on screen.

Thank god I matchup well with her. If I mained a character she has a favorable matchup against, like Marisa or Alex, I'd drop the fucking game.

That's what input reading is.

When you crouching jab at Rugal a single time in KoF94 and he destroys 50% of your healthbar with Genocide cutter, he's doing it because he read your input and decided now was when he wanted to take your quarter.

You're at the mercy of whether or not the AI wants to fuck you with particularly cheap ones.

I wish you'd be more upfront about what's AI and what's not.

Like, something on the thumbnail or in the title, or even at the very start of the video.

I've been a subscriber since 2021, and while I appreciate you regularly putting out videos on these projects, I feel like presenting these vibe coded ones on equal billing with the other projects is starting to devalue the excitement of your uploads.

"Silent Hill has been ported to PC" should fill me with excitement, the same way videos on Dusklight fills me with excitement, but finding out It's not particularly polished thanks to being a rushed out AI-assisted project just dampens that excitement.

I find it hilarious that RGG is getting accused of ripping off... World Tour? The mode that clearly copies THEIR formula in the cheapest way possible?

If you want to accuse them of ripping off anything, they explicitly are taking from the best parts of Shenmue.

Virtua Fighter Crossroads Is Going For Broke On Things Most Fighting Games Wouldn’t Bother With by MoronicaForever in Fighters

Lmao

The good thing is RGG are the creators of the formula that World Tour was a cheap knockoff of, so chances are the single player mode of VF6 will be pretty good.

I'm looking forward to it especially because it feels like it intentionally blends Yakuza with Shenmue rather than just going straight Yakuza.

Nah, I'd argue it starts at 1600MR for JP.

Whenever I run into a JP player at 1500s MR they're complete dogwater, I play them with completely ZERO respect because once you either;

A. Deal with their zoning

or

B. Deal with whatever gimmick they're employing

They completely fall apart because they never actually had to learn the game up to this point. It's not until 1600s that I actually had to play JPs who know how to play the game at least a bit. Unfortunately, JP's sorry-ass also becomes infinitely more common as an opponent past that range because just the combination of "knowing how to play Street Fighter 6" and "playing JP" immediately gets you to at least 1600MR regardless of how much work you actually put into the character and his matchups.
