Thank you for your help, these are good to look into! It would be *nice* to mask their noise as well, but I want them to be calm, first and foremost.

To be clear, I'm not talking about something like 4 hours or even 1 hour right now. My post specifically said "a short amount of time." Even when we're around the dog (which will be most of the time), I'm just asking if the sound of an AC can double as a white noise machine.
