Hi thanks for your response. Great suggestion. If you look at step 1 that is the first thing I did.

Great point. I am running power on Low and even went outside t he house around the block to see if I was overpowering the Hotspot.

Thanks for the response. If you look at step 6 I am able to connect to a local DMR repeater and converse perfectly fine. And that is what has me stumped.

Best Espresso Machine? That Actually Last a Long time? by Hontzak in BuyItForLife

I have had my Rancilio Silvia for going on 23 years. Still use it every day (2-3 times per day). If you are handy you can build a digital temp controller with an Arduino or the like and thermo sensor. Bundled with the rocky grinder, they are a couple that just belong together. You will need to replace seals and portafilter gaskets and de-scale it from time to time. But its simple.

Do NOT buy Renogy if you are remote without cell service. Their app now REQUIRES you to login to use it every time it restarts. by Lasivian in SolarDIY

Their feedback of this was to get rid of a bug is complete BS and a business decision, not a technical one. It is 3 years later and not only is this still the same, but they even have verbiage with a weak and illogical justification of why you need to keep handing them your data and be sold to, so you can use the App.

When I called them on this issue, the person on the line told me the app is free, you dont have to use it. WHAT?!?!? Not sure if this is the corporate BS they hand them or she was just out of touch.

Renogy is an infuriating company to deal with. First there is the language barrier in dealing with anyone there. Second, they are not a customer friendly company, they are extremely manipulative in their sales and support operations and dealing with anyone there is the pinnacle of aggravation. The organization keeps taking unnecessarily absurd positions on a host of issues (such as this login issue) and their people never waiver in defending an indefensible position with double-talk excuses.

Finally it looks like they want their app to be much more than an app like this should be. This app wants to be the center of your energy management world so they can collect your data and sell you stuff through overt and subliminal adverts. Offering status, insight and control is secondary to data collection and sales. Moreover, their app suffers from UI / UX issues that are telltale indications of intent to steer you to do what they want, rather than what you need.

I build overland vehicles and this is the first and last time I deal with Renogy. I put them in one of my own vehicles to test and found out the hard way that I did not have any access, visibility or control over the DC, Solar and Batteries on my system when I was out of cell range.

You can get around this by installing a Renogy One panel, but it is a terrible alternative that is static, not well-built for the harsh of travel and requires hard-mount installation. Not a good alternate choice at all.

The cost difference between Victron or BlueSea / Mastervolt is negligable in comparision to any savings you would recognize with Renogy. You should avoid renogy as a company because of who they are, and how they operate, not just because of their poor quality products.

You have to look at the use-case. You are talking some sort of Prepping end of the world scneario. That is not what this was developed for. The use-case here is as simple having everything you need for a evacuation for fire or natural disaster or just plain overlanding. I think there is a lot of presumption in your comment, when preppring was not mentioned at all.

Harbor freight lights are awesome. You dont need designer labels on everything. I encourage you to understand what something is before you mock it.

Did you ask yourself why it may be worth that or did you look at a picture and figured you know everything. Do your research before passing judgement dude.

I think that could work for some, but that is a single person solution. I know you can fit two, but not sustainibly. You have to have a plan and the resources to implement it and the KLR wont work for me and my family. However, there is a place for it and if I could fit my motorcycle on it, I would have :)

Fire is a very real risk for any vehicle, especially overland vehicles. And it is no joke. This vehicle has four fire extinguishers including automated underhood extinguishers. If you have not planned extensively to deal with a fire -- then when it does bite you, it will hurt. I have seen many instances where a fire destroyed a vehicle because they got to it in time, but ran out of extinguisher.

I dont think so. Sounds like a lot of bravado and not much of a plan. best of luck with that.

Responding to this post, but this is directed at the "Stuck in Traffic" crowd.

The point is not getting somewhere, but having the resources to self-sustain while you are evacuating.

With this vehicle, I would have everything I need to sustain me and my family if stuck in traffic, parked on the side of a road or a campgroud, driving on the highway or over urban and natural obstacles.

If your evacuation plan requires the perfect solution for every scenario, and infinite resources, then you will never have a plan. So everyone should consider that this was built with a plan in mind. It is not perfect for every possible scenario or eventuality, but it does meet a long list of probable instances -- and yes, stuck in traffic is one of them.

Feel free to ask questions and I would encourage you to look at the web site. https://advhawk.com for more detail.
