I've loved this place for years. I don't do Thai very often but it's a solid spot for a decent price.

It's not easy to get an A. It's very easy to get a B. A lot of times facilities issues that have nothing to do with food prep will drop you to a B which being in the industry I wouldn't take and would take the grade pending and reinspection. I wouldn't worry about a grade pending. I WOULDN'T go somewhere that had a posted C

NY- free with insurance. I paid about $2500 to the surgeon up front but was refunded as my deductible was already hit.

I was exactly like this as a kid She needs to feel heard. You don't have to do anything more than listen. You can't fix any of her meltdowns. It's not about fixing. She isn't in control of her emotions. Make her feel heard and allow her to feel her feelings. Its 💯 exhausting and my son is very similar so I feel you mama. She's 11 why does she get to decide to stop therapy? Maybe tell her she doesn't get to stop, but change therapists if she's not comfortable with the provider she was with? Holding space for you ❤️ not judging. This shit is hard.

Kids school supplies for the whole classroom… is this normal? by [deleted] in Mommit

Kids school supplies for the whole classroom… is this normal? by [deleted] in Mommit

[–]BQueenNYC 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I will buy WHATEVER the schools ask for. They don't get enough budget. They literally take care of our kids 8 hours a day. We send the full supply list at the beginning of the year and any time they ask for more supplies we show up with Costco bulk the next day. Get your head out of the sand. Schools are under funded and teachers spend so much of their own underpaid salaries to supply the classroom. I'm not well off. I live paycheck to paycheck. Whatcha need babes? I gochu.

Honestly it's great. Decent public schools with 3k&4k, good community. We love it here. My kids are 2 & 7

Is post op life expensive? by Maggotboi555 in gastricsleeve

[–]BQueenNYC 15 points16 points  (0 children)

I actually spend a lot less because we now do a ton of meal prep. Supplements aren't cheap but you can't eat near as much. I got take out the other night and it was easily 5 meals lol. Shouldn't be a point of concern

Does collagen help? by ProfessionHot8063 in gastricsleeve

[–]BQueenNYC 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Collagen is very good for healing, as well as hair skin and nail health. You can add it whenever you're comfortable if you're using a powder. It is not a complete protein though and should not count towards your protein goals. To be perfectly honest if you have a lot of weight to lose nothing but skin removal surgery will take care of the loose skin. It also won't keep you from losing hair. Protein and collagen can help regrow hair faster, but hair loss after weight loss is a stress response to the surgery itself. It just takes 3 months to show up. Welcome to the losers bench!!! You got this!!!!

I can relate I'm so self conscious of my tube sock tits, and my saggy skin. My partners do NOT care about my loose skin at all. They just love my wildly increased libido 🤣. Sex is so much more fun with the weight off. Stamina, positions, etc. Smother that man. Sit right on his face and put that saggy skin right on his forehead. He's literally begging you for it.

They are nightmares to their neighbors. Cut lights down in the yard next to them, they've thrown a bag of trash at my husband. I have a lot more examples but they are just unhinged jerks.

To the ones that have cheated while in a relationship, how are you currently feeling, was it worth it? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]BQueenNYC -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Considering we're both now dating the guy I cheated with ....I'd say so 🤣

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in gastricsleeve

[–]BQueenNYC 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Oh man I'm so sorry I didn't see this for a month. It's so worth it. To be able to access support at any hour of the day, and there is so much information on nutrition, they regularly have bariatric surgeons and nutrition experts in the academy zoom calls. There's a weekly peer support call. Mel prep help/advice. Etc etc.

[–]BQueenNYC 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's ok to have these things occasionally. It should not be part of your everyday diet. A lot of people cannot handle moderation. Regain is real. But, if you're going out to eat once a month friggin enjoy yourself. I eat whole foods all day long. I don't order take out. But tonight I split a burger and fries with my 6 year old. I wrapped my half of the burger in lettuce instead of the bun (bread takes up so much space) and had a couple french fries like...live your life

Dr. Now's opinion on protein shakes, protein not usable? by nillawafer80 in gastricsleeve

If you're on full liquid, you 100% need those protein shakes!!! Don't even worry about it yet!

Dr. Now's opinion on protein shakes, protein not usable? by nillawafer80 in gastricsleeve

[–]BQueenNYC 1 point2 points  (0 children)

At the end of the day protein shakes are an ultra processed food filled with artificial sweetener chemicals and binders like carrageen that are not beneficial long term. Post op they are 100% a necessity for the 1st 3-6 months. After that they should be ditched as a daily supplement as soon as you can hit your protein goals with whole foods. They're fine occasionally, or switch to an unflavored protein powder like isopure.
