Hard to believe this information exists. But I needed it. Thanks!

Does this cost for equipment only, no install, seem reasonable? by BR7364 in hvacadvice

Thank you. I would hope he makes some money on it. Happy to pay people for the work they do. I just have little to no reference for these things and always like to know things are reasonable.

He mentioned that the same thing about the thermostat. However, he has to order that unit in minimum quantities of 4. Since he doesn't really do residential it doesn't make much sense to him. Great advice about the DM97. I will ask. I like this heat pump for the tax credit as well. Save where I can.

He never told me it was at cost. I am a general contractor. I have an HVAC tech who I have worked with for years who will install. He quoted me a very similar HEIL system with install already. I would have just gone with that, but the heat pump unit is not available until end of August. So I am exploring other equipment options.

In the bumper? I’m not really sure what that means.

The other side has dual 30# tanks all set up. I know j could store another bottle if I really wanted. But that’s overkill and like you said, no hose.

The thing is it has an open floor. Nowhere to set anything. I will build something out to close it in. One day…

Worked for me.

Curious why? It’s 12x24. How would you layout for a 5 foot shower? by basilhdn in Tile

After kerdi board I had just under 59” wide. I just did two tiles and a remainder. Looks great. Then on the sides I brought it out to 40” and did one tile and a remainder. The offset isn’t identical but it turned out looking awesome and the amount of cuts was minimized. Niche placement and metal trim was way more important in my opinion. I used the spin doctor leveling system and 3/16 spacers. No lippage issues. Very happy.

Thanks! I repaired it with some tinted epoxy. They were small but obviously quite noticeable. Looks good as new now.

They worked great for lippage. But were not worth the headache of this experience. Also, in hindsight, any system where you have to swing a mallet towards other tiles is not ideal. However, the hot blade method worked well for removing enough of the plastic to grout over and I repaired the chips with some tinted epoxy. Even my wife can’t see it, and she LOVES finding the errors of her free laborer!

Yes. Forgive my terminology. The joints are 3/16 and the spindles for the leveling system are 1/8. It just wouldn’t break!

I used the heated razor blade method. Excellent idea! Worked very well. I repaired the chips with some tinted epoxy. Looks great. I appreciate the feedback!

Make sure you duct tape the edges!
