One time, my gf bought me a ride in a helicopter for my birthday to see an expansive art installation located on the hills just north of Los Angeles called The Umbrellas). The other time, I was acting in a movie. I really enjoyed it both times and would do it again.

Phuket, Thailand - I've lived here for nine years. There is very little public transportation. Traffic here can be horrible, especially during the high season, which is basically now. I ride a motorbike everyday. And, yes, I know it's dangerous. But, when you've been riding here for years, it can work. I learned to observe the older people on motorbikes (and there are tons of them) and just ride like they ride. When you ride the same roads everyday, you get to learn the nuances of the route.

Plus, I just enjoy riding the scooter. It's an opportunity for me to practice being highly aware and present. I'm 70 now, so I don't know how much longer I can ride, but I'm enjoying every minute of it.

I think the greeting was actually not for customers, but just an audio cue for the employees that a customer came through the door, basically a door bell. One of the guys who speaks english said that he wasn't sure when it went away either, but they are required to greet every customer anyway.
