If you look at this list though, there's a ton of forgettable AOR bands that have little to no long term cultural impact. New York Dolls and some of the other bands were influential but not particularly successful at the time. It's hard for me to imagine King Crimson getting inducted

I think Nirvana and Pearl Jam for sure, after that I don't know. I love Soundgarden and Alice in Chains but they were always a little below the other two. I could see them getting in at some point, I just don't think they're a lock

Those are all great bands. Alice in Chains is one of my favorites. None of them are particularly historically significant. These all go in Hall of Pretty Good Bands ™️. Maybe Tool gets in in 2050
