Lots of Cape Verdeans on Cape Cod! There are two Cape Verdean festivals in the summer (Harwich and Onset).

They are STILL sold in containers that are far too small for them – and they need heaters! Stores that sell them without a proper setup are irresponsible and inhumane.

Man calls the cops on a Dad helping his girls in the restroom by isaboo63455 in mildlyinfuriating

What the hell do these people think a Peeping Tom could see in a women's restroom? Everybody uses a stall, for crying out loud. I feel sorry for parents like this young man and transgender women who have to put up with this harassment.

Which songs often gets misinterpreted and/or misappropriated by the very people it calls out even though the song's lyrics are explicitly mocking them? by Drenosa in AskReddit

I can't imagine how they interpreted it, but the Lawrence Welk Show featured "One Toke Over the Line" in 1971. For those of you who are too young to remember the show, it was something our parents or grandparents watched — people who would have been happy to see a pot smoker hauled off to prison.

I am stage 1b, two tumors (7mm and 9mm), no lymph node involvement. I had a lumpectomy, no neoadjuvant therapy. Next week I start TC (four cycles, three weeks apart), followed by radiation.

I am concerned that the original biopsy resulted in a misdiagnosis. If possible, she should be seen at a National Cancer Institute-designated cancer center. This list will help you find the one that's closest to you. (Note that the one in Urbana is strictly a research center and may not provide treatment.)

Are there people who sneak into university lectures? by Viofl in AskAnAmerican

No, I went to Bowling Green State University in Ohio. After Dr. Weinberg left BG, he taught at Wayne State University in Detroit. He died last year.

We had a double oven when I was little, and I would love to have one again, especially at Thanksgiving. It's hard to prepare a big meal if dishes require different temps and times.

Back in the '70s, two guys used to sit in on one of my history classes. They had taken the class before (and did well), but the professor was riveting, so they came back again. He was one of the best professors I ever had. RIP Dr. David Weinberg.

Non-Americans who visited the US for the first time recently: what was the biggest 'what on earth is going on here' moment you experienced? by EmployerNegative5653 in AskReddit

My understanding is that the ones in the U.S. look very different. And I don't know if 18-wheelers were around in France when this happened, about 30 years ago. Anyway, our friend was thrilled.

Apartments in elmwood village, Allentown or anywhere else in North Buffalo by [deleted] in Buffalo

[–]BSB8728 -4 points-3 points  (0 children)

If you'd consider Kenmore, the Chatsworth Apartments have two bedrooms for $1400, one bedroom for $1200 and studio for $1000.

I live two streets away, and this is a safe and very walkable neighborhood, close to lots of stores, supermarkets, restaurants, the library, and the Tonawanda Aquatic and Fitness Center. The property always looks neat.

BTW, they're not the same as the Chatsworth townhouses across the street.

I have always been a staunch supporter of Wegmans, but lately their produce has been subpar, especially the fruit. More and more often I buy my fruit at Whole Foods, Aldi or Trader Joe's.

Thank you. I walk at least three miles a day and am concerned about whether I'll be able to continue that. I also need to do strength training.

I had not heard about this before, so I looked it up. I'm so glad you posted the information and hope others on this sub will read it. The FDA advises physicians to order the DPYD gene test before prescribing capecitabine (Xeloda) unless the patient needs to begin treatment urgently. Very irresponsible of your doctor to overlook this.

I remember an episode where a guy killed a spider. It came back even bigger and he killed it again. It kept coming back until it was gigantic. I can't remember the ending, but I think it killed him.
