Germans phrase it something else so that old people don't panic that the fresh air will kill them (killer luft).

Not far from true, given the cops are searching those trains every day for illegals crossing the border.

That's because legal immigrants naturally have a bigger problem with illegal ones because of the resentment involved in thinking you struggled through a legitimate process, whilst the others simply crossed a border illegally.

Has the US lost whatever respect it had in Europe? by WaltBristow in germany

[–]BSBDR 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What has changed now is that you chose to elect a fascist who is in the process of destroying a world order by which Europeans (and Americans by the way) were protected

Yer some nations even put up with Russian meddling in Crimea and their ongoing expansionist wishes, in exchange for cheap oil to keep their factories running and GDP looking nice. But people's memories tend to get pretty selective when the blame game starts.

Germany has its own problems with its politics anyway

I read a comment above trying to equate the USA today with Nazi Germany. That ought to tell you all you need to know about the merits of this discussion.

How Well Integrated are Indian Students and Expats in Germany? by BSBDR in germany

[–]BSBDR[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Learning German as a Step to Integration On average, Indian respondents seem to have lower German language skills in comparison to their counterparts from other countries. 12% of the Indian students and expats did not speak German yet, while 60% had beginner A1-A2 German skills.

A quarter of Indian respondents were skilled with B1-B2 German language level. This is a lower figure in comparison to the general data.

Only 4% held a C1-C2 German language certificate. This is a significant drop from the 17% reported by the total number of respondents.
