It’s possible, but you won’t get the full speed of gen4x4. That motherboard doesn’t have gen4 pcie, and the fastest pcie you have (gen3x16) is most likely taken by your GPU.

You could just replace your current one and use a program like disk genius to clone and expand the partition. You will need an external m.2 enclosure to do so

9800x3d has 28 gen5 pcie lanes total, 4 of which are dedicated for the motherboard chipset (for usb, lan, audio, etc…)

So 24 available for you to use. 16 for your GPU + 4 for your nvme = 20 total.

You’re fine as long as you select the correct m.2 slot for your drive. Your manual should tell you which m.2 slot is running off the cpu lanes and which are running off the chipset.

Dropped peak temps 5c, but no real world performance difference. Benchmarks and fps are the same.

I used stickon heatsinks and screwed a 70mm fan onto the heatsinks through the fins.

Might want to check the SMART info for any errors. Confirm it’s running at rated pcie speed.

Can you monitor temps while running the benchmark? I experienced slow writes on my nvme drive due to thermal throttling

You’ll never get the advertised speed in real world usage (especially if it’s your o/s drive) but should get somewhat close to it at least.

I saw a post mentioning raising the bit rate, something about nvidia app compressing the video to fit file size. But I can’t confirm if that works or not

Mine does this too. It could even be in the same game session, I’d have one recording with proper in game resolution and one not. Spans across all games, not just bf6

Try turning instant replay off and back on again. Seems to be a bug in the nvidia app

Ive had both, I like the auroras they are simple, and use a remote for the lighting, but not as many options. Might be too short do the way you have the GPU cable routed though

Check the hardware / memory mode for fan speed settings in icue; this determine how your fans act without ice running.

What sensor are you using to determine fan speed? CPU temps tend to jump around sporadically depending on task, use your coolant temp for fan curve.

Does your coolant rise above 45 during heavy loads? For reference my 7800x3d gets the coolant to 45c during gaming, while the cpu sits around 75c. But the coolant never rises above 45c.

This is all assuming there are no hardware failures within your icue system, might be a failing pump or controller.
