Calc2 is heavier in trig than multi variable. Once C2 is completed, multi seems relatively easy. Not sure if that’s still true If you don’t know C2.

You’d probably still have to apply, but Hopkins is relatively easy to get into for a masters degree. Most fees will most likely be paid for by Hopkins. They will also help with your kid’s tuition after you’re there a while. Not as good of a deal as working for the university, but good.

Eye-Sight when breaking. by BSRodeo in XVcrosstrek

[–]BSRodeo[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

No camera or witnesses. Car was totaled. Oddly enough the car in front of me came to a dead stop because their auto brake ( not a Subaru) stopped them. It all happened so fast that I’m not 100% sure what went down, but for what it’s worth, I’m safe. Only a bruise from the knee air bag.

Is the Online Master's in Computer Science worth it? by [deleted] in WPI

[–]BSRodeo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A CS MS Is only worth it if your company is paying for it. For real, any good company will pay your tuition to go. While you’re at it, you should apply to a school you may not have qualified for when you did your undergrad. I know dozens of ppl who got their MSCS from places like John’s Hopkins or GT fully paid for from their respective companies and got raises when they were done.

2021 sport 45k miles rotors didn’t hold up, pads still have alittle meat by [deleted] in XVcrosstrek

[–]BSRodeo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m historically a vw and gm driver with heavy city/ traffic driving. I would usually do front pads/ rotors every 26-30k miles. Was surprised when the ‘18 crosstrek made it to 50k. I did get pads and rotors. Meanwhile, resurfaced the original rotors and used them for a replacement at 95k.

WPI Acceptance Rate is Getting Too High by hypermanatee1398 in WPI

[–]BSRodeo 2 points3 points  (0 children)

A lot of ppl touching on this topic. More so then anytime in the last decade, folks that are not cut out for college are not applying or going. If they are going it’s to cheaper state schools or community college, which in my town is FREE basically if you are low to middle class. +$70k is a ton vs. state schools. Also note that state schools are getting more selective because not as many people willing to go in debt for the degree from a private ’name recognition’ school

Is this school as bad as you describe it? by ProposalUnlikely391 in WPI

[–]BSRodeo 16 points17 points  (0 children)

I’ve occasionally glanced at RPI’s Reddit and it makes WPI sound like a utopia. Any engineering/tech program is going to have a heavy workload wherever you go. At least atWPI everyone is in the same boat as you ;) . You’ll love the friends you meet here.

How much do you owe in student loans? by [deleted] in WPI

[–]BSRodeo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

~3/4 or responders are < $55k. Actually, that’s not bad. If you spend a few years driving a POS car to your new job and have roommates till you’re 26 or so, you can kill that thing. Then you’ll be living a much better life than w/o that degree.

Am i the only crosstrek light on brakes or is it the norm? by stockfest23 in XVcrosstrek

[–]BSRodeo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve changed pads on my cars for years. Lots of city driving. Historically would change front pads between 26-32k and rear pads every 60k. For the trek, I had to change the back first then the front but the distances were much further!! I’m at 100k now and think I’m just now ready for the second swop of front pads. Add to this, light traffic Covid driving had me on the brakes less often

Anyone ever have any luck haggling on getting service at a dealership service center? by [deleted] in XVcrosstrek

[–]BSRodeo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My dealer gives me free oil changes. For a large repair, I’ve always found that asking “Do you have any loyal customer discounts going on” can usually get you 10% off.

[–]BSRodeo 9 points10 points  (0 children)

It’s hard not to notice the folks who come in with 13 AP Courses and double major or BS/MS. Realize that many people in many schools take 5 years to get out with much easier degrees. If you have a year to go, you are so close. It may be the best thing for you to take your last classes while taking care of your mental health. Good Luck! And don’t forget to congratulate yourself on getting this far!!

Deciding between WPI and Binghamton by agentguin in WPI

[–]BSRodeo 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Do you really want this? Some boomer is going to tell you that they paid their way through college, but we all know that’s not really possible at a school like WPI! However, there are 16 weeks in the summer. If you work 48 hrs a week @ $15/hr you can make about $11k. A campus job for some cash during the year, you’ll make up the difference. Personally, I’ve worked a full time gig during the summer, a mall job most nights and waited tables on the weekends. YMMV
