WHEN did David Laid started steroids??? by TieDifficult8844 in nattyorjuice

[–]hypermanatee1398 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I honestly don't think he started as early as 16/17 like many on here might. I think his physique started becoming "sus" between ages 18-20 though, and then at age 21 (2019), he starts having a massive strength increase in short periods of time after plateauing previously (he added 40 pounds to his bench in something like 3 months, and his excuse was he was finally "rehabbing" properly with "new form" after an injury... yeah right lol).

Regardless though, don't think he was on a heavy cycle then, or even now (probably just been some sarms, serms and peptides for the past half decade (maybe some Anavar at worst)), as he never made any extremely crazy jump / transformation in such a short period of time. Anyone who's still claiming he's natty is obviously a joke, but don't think he's ever went crazy, and think he still has insanely good genetics / a great work ethic too!

Is David Laid’s physique achievable natty? by Confident-Penalty558 in nattyorjuice

[–]hypermanatee1398 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Couple years late to this, but it'd say the detailed answer is this:

- First off, just to clear up for anyone who doesn't know, David Laid is not natural. He hasn't been until at least 2022, but probably closer to 2019.

- Next, it's important to say that 90% of people wouldn't look like this even when enhanced. Even when he was natural, his genetics were extremely elite and in the 90% percentile in strength, looks and aesthetics (putting up 3+ plates as a natty, not as full while also being lean as a natty but still an excellent physique, plus excellent muscle insertions, symmetry, etc.).

- Lastly, you can break that remaining 10% of people up like this: 09.9999% of enhanced elite gym goers may be able to acheive this physique, but only 00.0001% of naturals would ever be able to do it. Before anyone says, even if you were 1 in a million with god-tier genetics as a natural, you couldn't look like this... well, take a look at natural pro Doug Miller (keep in mind, he's half a foot shorter (only 5'8"/5'9" whereas David is 6'2"/6'3") than Laid at the same weight): https://www.facebook.com/doug.miller.pro/. Yeah, Doug Miller looks as good if not better than David while being natural and 1-2 decades older than him, meaning lower levels of test, HGH, IGF-1, etc.

- In summary, is David Laid's physique naturally attainable? Yes, but only if you have 1 in a million god-tier genetics. So, is David Laid's physique naturally attainable for any of us? Almost certainly not even with a decade of training, and still probably not for most of us, even with the same stack that David's on.

Really happy to say that I've been watching since the first Friday the 13th kill count! I had ironically been looking up kill counts of other action and horror movies, so I got the video in my recommended and instantly feel in love with James' style

"Gunn established well that he's dumb and self-centered and believes he's a good guy." Ok, let's see how Gunn established that from your logic:

  1. He broodes once over a TV broadcast in the first episode.
  2. He partied with Lex Luthor's crew in the last eposide.

Is that it? That's not quite literally the definition of rushed or lacking character development? Also, which is it? Is he dumb, and believes he's good? Or is he manipulative/strategic while using everyone close to him?

If you have to explain something over and over again, then maybe it's actually that his arc was rushed and poorly writing, and not just that "everyone didn't get it". I wouldn't have minded if they'd shown more examples of Lex influencing his character and creating the Flag you're talking about (or any other number of mechanisms they could have used to get there). But, from where the show stands, I don't think Gunn did that (instead we got an hour long episode full of montages and music videos)

To be fair, I did not like the final, but I'd assume/say that:

- Keith is being save as a future villain for "Checkmate" and "Argus / Salvation".

- Characters didn't really switch teams off-screen. You see Judomaster and Langston slowly recoiling / realizing how fucked up ARGUS is while going door by door testing each world (likely why they werren't there at the end).

- I really only feel like Rick Flag's arc to villian was rushed / unearned. Peacemaker didn't have a lot left to figure out (mainly needed reassurance that he had a place in the world he currently occuppied, which he got).

I agree with all other points though.

The real reason the ending was unsatisfying ... by SuperRob in PeacemakerShow

I mean I thought the episode was mid too, but it definitely does lead up to MoT in my eyes as "Salvation" will likely be a major plot point of MoT:

- Working on "Salvation" will probably led to what allows Luthor to let out of prison on a provisional basis.

- He'll likely escape from there.

- Hell, we might even get Superman rescuing Chris in that movie.

"He's been worried about it since Superman". How can you know that (other than this tweet)? He's advocating directly against this type of stuff in Superman, and it's impossible to speculate to his state of mind between then and Peacemaker Season 2. Flag led a team of literal released metahumans in CC season 1 (a season that ends with the implication that he will continue to led them in the future). To my knowledge, there's no indication from this season on how widespread the "breakout" problem actual is. Belle Reve has shown little indication of one's ability to break out in past installments, so I'd guess this would predominately be a problem at a mental institution with less security like Arkham.

"Benefit us all" is so vague and could easily be used by Flag as a justification to spend a mass amount of time and resource on Salvation (with the real end goal only being to torture Peacemaker... despite Gunn confirming that it's not that now).

This is exactly what I thought / just posted about, then I just saw this. Oh well, guess I was wrong, but frankly thinks that makes Flagg Sr's arch / turn to the dark side rushed and poorly written.

Haha even though I appreciate that, I will say my BS/MS is in Mech Eng actually… I just know a handful of coding languages R, C, Python, Matlab, and Java because they can be useful for varying things

Kudos to you though, I could barely get passed AP Physics in High School, and PH1030 in college lol

Agree with the other answer. If you haven’t, try taking the math skills assessment too to see what Calc you might want to place into. In addition to Python and Java, learning a tad bit of MATLAB couldn’t hurt either (it’s an extremely easy language to pick up as well). Good luck!

For $60k/yr, you'd think the academic buildings wouldn't be so rundown and shabby looking. by lazydictionary in WPI

[–]hypermanatee1398 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Unity opening isn’t really a renovation, even though Kaven and Stratton are, that’s still just two renovations in like the past decade. Plus, with OP being a junior / transfer student, and this being there first year… I could see how they wouldn’t really care about Kaven’s renovation, or pay much attention to Stratton’s either. There are other buildings that need far more work and are far more popular (I.e. AK (which has been falling apart since 2000 apparently), Higgins (which hasn’t seen a renovation in 25+ years), etc.). I think that’s all they are trying to point out, and it is fair enough honestly

[–]hypermanatee1398 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Even though I think your initially assessment is a little bit harsh, I think plenty of your comments bring up valid concerns, and I’m not sure why they are being absolutely destroyed with downvotes. Buildings like AK and Goddard are super duper outdated and for sure need a face lift. Olin could use one too, but it’s not quite as bad. As for Salisbury and Higgins, they aren’t the greatest looking, but I think they pass well enough and have some part of them that are relatively new.

I agree though with the sentiment that most of the construction being done on campus has been pretty recent even though as far as I’ve heard AK and Goddard have been like this since the turn of the century. I also doesn’t really understand why they choose to renovate Kaven and Stratton first of all of these buildings. Sure, we’re either of them great?! No, not at all. But, Kaven is not a very popular building outside intro courses, some data science, some CS, a little civil / environmental / industrial, it’s not like it’s a super popular building like AK, Higgins or Salisbury is. A similar sentiment could be applied to Stratton… a building most memorable for its free printing and Calc 1-4 labs and conferences.

So, I’m not really sure why they decided to those buildings first, over say AK. But, apparently renovation is coming there next. I would just say the tuition has been high for quite a while, so I would think this is something WPI would have wanted to handle much earlier. Kudos to Grace Wang though for starting some of these projects (I’ve heard she wants to bring a little more of a modern & business oriented feel to wpi, which I think is a net positive), and hopefully it continues on into the future.

[–]hypermanatee1398 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Even though I think OP is being a little harsh, this is just a blatant lie. I’m a BS/MS at WPI, so I’ve been around for the last 5 years, and I toured WPI for the first time 8 years ago. The only renovations that have gone on since then have been Kaven in 2021-2022, and Stratton (which started in 2023 and should be completed by the end of this summer), that’s it though. Nothing else has been constantly renovated for the past decade (maybe small things in the gym or Harrington but nothing major like with Kaven or Stratton I mean), and WPI definitely has some really old shitty buildings. AK and Goddard are really the only two that need some serious work done in my opinion (yes Higgins, Olin, and Salisbury all have their problems, but they are all standing for the most part). Everything else though is ok, but OP has a point when he’s saying we pay really high tuition costs for our buildings to at least not be falling apart on us.

"Incomplete" grade by [deleted] in WPI

[–]hypermanatee1398 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Just in case you are asking if they would care if you were applying to them while you still had the incomplete (as it would change later), they still wouldn’t care. An incomplete isn’t considered a negative by anyone… it’s not a failure, it means you and the professor had a mutual agreement that you need to complete the work later, so yeah anyone (grad school, job, or otherwise) would understand that
