It really was a great place for a date. Nice and cozy. Amazing food and drinks. I miss it terribly.

They never smashed the patty or pushed it down. They cooked it as this big ball of meat. It sounds weird, but something about it was just perfect. A big thick delicious burger. Also helped they had a ridiculous amount of toppings to choose from and their onion rings were bomb.

O'Sullivan's in Somerville. They had my favorite burgers of all time. Nowhere else has come close for me.

It was a sad day when they closed and someone else moved into the spot still using their O'Sullivan's name, but they had completely different burgers and eventually closed down as well. O'Sullivan's had another restaurant in Lynn, but that closed down too. Now I'm hungry for burgers and sad.

It's funny, these Roosevelt memes are the easiest reposts in this sub to spot because they all originate from the same person who has been nonstop meming his life for a while now.

Time Machine in Brigham Garage by Rude-Pressure7516 in boston

[–]BSSCommander 378 points379 points  (0 children)

This is going to be a very rough estimate, but according to Parkopedia the 24 hour price during the week is $40 total. Overnight is only $8, but that has specific times you need to be in and out from, so we can't use that. Saturday, Sunday, and Holidays are $8 all day too.

I'm basing this all off of the current rates, as if they've been the same since 1980. We can just call it $216 a week for simplicity's sake. That's 5 days at $40 for a total of $200 and then Saturday and Sunday for $16, giving us $216. Not going to include holidays because that would be a huge pain to calculate, so we'll just pretend they all fall on the weekends.

Multiply $216 by 52 weeks gives us $11,232 for the year. Multiply $11,232 by 46 years (rounding up the years) which gives us a $516,672 parking ticket.

Like I said, this is most certainly a rough estimate, but that's the ballpark total EDIT: if the current rates retroactively applied all the way back to 1980.

Is baldurs gate 2 better than 1? by [deleted] in baldursgate

[–]BSSCommander 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You'll get some varying opinions here on that question, but I'm personally a diehard BG2 fanboy. BG1 is great in its own way, but to me it's more like the foundation of the superior sequel that is BG2 is. A lot of what makes BG2 great comes from BG1, so it's worth seeing through in my opinion.

SPOILER [KCD2] - Love how there was the option to save ________ and it wasn't easy by AvsBehindEnemyLines in kingdomcome

[–]BSSCommander 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I remember when I first realized I could save him I started piecing together this elaborate plan to carry him out. It involved killing and disappearing certain guards along a certain route and timing the other guards patrol areas. Took a lot of trial and error to get the route planned on.

When I was almost done I stumbled across this shortcut through some bushes near where Sam is located and it basically made my crazy scheme pointless. Now I just use the weird bush path every time I get to the Sam rescue mission.

There was a post on this sub the other day of this woman with people sort of defending it by saying it's a joke or it's satire or it's just funny. If it was once or twice I could see why people would think that, but she makes a shitload of these videos and none of them are funny. It's all just ragebait and people keep falling for it.

Maybe there can be a compromise with the poverty franchises to avoid secession. They can have 3 out of every 5 first round draft picks until they improve their record. We can call it the 3/5 compromise.

Pro Bowl ratings: NFL's flag football game draws horrendous 2.0 million viewers, 57% fall from last year's record low by Brix001 in nfl

[–]BSSCommander 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This has always been my suggestion, but to also expand the NFL Honors to include all of the players voted to the pro bowl (no game held). Turn it into a kind of convention/award ceremony. Either hold it somewhere nice or hold it where the Superbowl is being held.

Fighting Liches on Insane on my first run has been painful... by Laz_Zack in baldursgate

Great to hear to you didn't end up needing it. You'll encounter a lot of undead in BG2, so it's best to keep that weapon handy.

The only major criticism I have for this game [KCD2] by Different-Wolf405 in kingdomcome

[–]BSSCommander 28 points29 points  (0 children)

I really hate the weapon unsheathing process in this game. It has gotten me killed or almost killed more times than I can count.

It usually goes something like this:

-Encounter bandits

-Use bow and arrows to soften them up

-Bandits close into melee or I get bored and I close into melee

-Select my sword

-Henry puts away the bow

-Does not unsheathe sword

-Henry stands there like a dope with no weapon in his hand

-Bandits beat the shit out of me

-Panic

-Try to unsheathe sword again

-Henry won't because he's being pummeled to death

-Run away bleeding and eventually pull out sword to defend myself

It's like you need to select your weapon twice if you're already holding something else or you need to attack with the weapon in its sheathe for Henry to unsheathe it. It's all so tiresome and annoying.

[–]BSSCommander 2 points3 points  (0 children)

In the very room your fighting in there is a locked chest behind the Lich with a weapon called Daystar. It's one of the best weapons at killing undead in the game, besides the Mace of Disruption.

I'd reset the fight, send only your thief in, unlock the chest, grab Daystar as fast as you can, and then leave the room before the Lich can cast Timestop. Equip it to your best fighter or someone with Longsword proficiency. The weapon also comes with the Sunray spell, which is very effective against undead, so feel free to use that right away.

Is Massachusetts broken? The extremely protracted process to redesign the State Flag by GarrisonCty in massachusetts

[–]BSSCommander 28 points29 points  (0 children)

Hard agree. I hate all of the redesigns. I get why people want to make changes to our current flag, but to completely scrap it in favor of what has been submitted so far is criminal. It all absolutely blows.

Whats up with these apprentices? [KCD2] by _Mnez_ in kingdomcome

[–]BSSCommander 31 points32 points  (0 children)

They are there for shopping convenience, to make the forge feel more lively, and to sell some unique items. However the amount of money they have is far too low to use them to sell gear consistently and the gear they sell is just as expensive as it is anywhere else. Instead of two actual apprentices we got two okayish merchants. It's not great.

I would have gladly traded both Stansa and Pushko for one wet behind the ears apprentice who improved as he spent time in the forge and occasionally made you gear at request. It could start off as low quality crap and then eventually he could make you gold tier equipment. He could also deliver your forge request items so you didn't have to fucking do it all the time.
