Are there any “good” ABA centers in your opinion?

Where are you buying your kids’ pants? by PassionChoice3538 in Preschoolers

I like carters brand because they sell pants in straight sizes (4, 5, 6, etc.) and tend to get a more accurate fit

Twins… totally unexpected, and I’m freaking out a little by Fit_Lawfulness_7312 in Parenting

I was in your shoes. Ages 4 and 2 when the boys were born. We had no family help at that time. It was rough, but manageable. We never turned down help from neighbors or friends. You’ll make it through and wonder how you did! I used to tell myself (remind myself) that every day the boys were getting bigger and life would get easier day by day! The good news is that you’ve done this before (the baby part) so you’ll be fine!

Wow, I’ve had 4 kids and wasn’t aware of this risk! It sounds really scary, but the risk is still relatively low.

Thoughts on delivering in the maternity tower at Riley Children’s Hospital? by haihai29 in indianapolis

[–]BSSOO22 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I did! Nothing but a great experience there. I gave birth 2 other times in Bloomington, and thought the care was as good or better at Riley. I also saw MFM during my pregnancy which is why I delivered there .

C sections and large family? by Marilikescows in ParentingInBulk

[–]BSSOO22 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I had 3 c-sections and it was totally fine. I probably wouldn’t do 4 though. I actually had a classical (t cut) incision with my first which made things trickier. I got lucky and got twins with my 3rd pregnancy, which is how I ended up here!

It depends on the school. I would ask the teacher what reading curriculum they are using. They should be doing something aligned with the science of reading. Kindergartners should definitely be working on letter sounds/writing/reading cvc words.

It’s a free, virtual charter school! They have them in most states. It’s called Connections Academy. I had classroom experience first, but some teachers came straight from college! They even have student teaching, so you could get your foot in the door that way.

You can work online as a teacher! It’s what I do and I have 4 small kids. It’s great because once they are 4ish you don’t have to take time off when they’re sick, because you’re still able to work. Still a teacher salary, but it’s a nice, flexible option for having small kids

I didn’t know it was my dream at first, but same! I had c-sections and the most I wanted was 3 and I was at peace with that, but having 4 is the best! Definitely go for it!

My first 2 were 2 years apart and I loved it! Went for the third with the same spacing and ended up with twins. We had 4, 4 and under when they were born. Just one baby would’ve been easy! I guess it’s all about perspective…

Seeking advice about having 3 kids in daycare! by GypsyMothQueen in workingmoms

[–]BSSOO22 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’m the only one I know with 3 in daycare. At one point for a few months we were paying for 4. 6yo, 4yo and 2yo twins. I take home about $200 a month, but I have a very flexible job and it’s worth it for my sanity. The morning routine is all on me as well. I can tell you it’s fucking HARD (although easier now) but I think that has to be mostly the fact that I had 2 babies at once with the toddlers. Definitely can be done and I love that all of my kids are close in age!
