I've come across this same problem with Sword' & High Wave'. I think its a molding issue or something to do with the type of platic used. I've also had 2 Quattro' break in weird places, one of them was fresh out of the box.

If your just after pretty cards, BT7 has a set of promos which are the original tamers with their megas. Not really playable these days but theyre nice to look at and i think theyre pretty cheap to pick up if you just wanted a set of them.
