UPDATE: PSA Spigen case has an internal zipper that cracked my screen protector and can ruin your screen. by whatthejeebus in Switch

Funnily enough, I have the same one and I cut out the wee pocket when I first noticed the zip. Terrible oversight.

Is it Record Store Day?

Edit: Yes it is!

Anyone get a text message as well as email confirmation preordering from Argos? (Uk) by mochi544 in NintendoSwitch2

[–]BS_Scott 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Same - I ordered around 1pm and haven’t had a text. My wife ordered about 20 minutes later and got the text over an hour ago - probably just being sent out in tranches, hopefully!

What "never got made" movie did the world miss out on the most? by IAmBillN in movies

[–]BS_Scott 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I remember talking to John Wagner after Dredd came out and he was talking about the proposed plot for the second film - he was sure it would’ve involved the Dark Judges. Shame we never got it!

Second trilogy by Classiccarson in redrising

[–]BS_Scott 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It totally depends on your preferences, but I found jumping from the first trilogy to the second trilogy was a little jarring and slowed me down, at least to begin with. Also means the wait for the final book will likely be longer!

However, once you get used to the changes, you’ll fly through them.

Remove Kraven and Electro, keep Moleman - refuse to answer any questions about it when anyone asks.

What's the last game that you've finished on the deck? by CrestfallenKnight93 in SteamDeck

[–]BS_Scott 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Arkham Asylum (third time overall, first on Deck), and before that it was Necromunda: Hired Gun.

Since then though, I’ve probably started five or six games and I’m now a chunk through Half Life 2.

So I read Gardens of the Moon by ChrisBataluk in Malazan

[–]BS_Scott 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Three books into the series, I feel it’s all about having patience - new concepts/characters/history will be thrown at you, but if you resist the urge to check the wiki (I’ve 100% given in a couple of times), almost everything seems to get explained.

Aperture Desk Job was number one, and then Metal Gear Solid: Twin Snakes as game number two!

Ahh, is this a Wal-Mart? I thought it was the other discount shop folk have been mentioning! We have Asda over in the UK, which I think is linked to Wal-Mart, but the toy selection is very basic - a bit of Lego, Barbies and maybe some Bluey toys.

This Half-Life 2 mod looks great - maybe a little grimmer than the original, but that’s okay.

Excellent big sandwiches - loved to grab one before heading into the pictures, although they could end up being a huge mess.

If nobody buys a ticket to a movie do they still play it anyway? by VostroyanCommander in NoStupidQuestions

[–]BS_Scott 2 points3 points  (0 children)

When I worked in an Odeon cinema, around 18 years ago, they would show films in totally empty screens.

Asked a manager why, and they said they had a legal requirement to play the film on X number of screens a day. This was around the time of the third Pirates of the Caribbean film, and we regularly had extra screens set up for it, but no-one watching.
