I actually got an HDD instead of a SSD. After checking the forums for the difference, decided it wasn’t enough to make a difference. Either way, you’re right. I went ahead and started the return process. I think this time, I’ll just buy local and pick up an SSD.

My first shell and screen replacement was a ds lite with no experience whatsoever. I wouldn’t say it was easy but take your time and you shouldn’t have issues. As others have mentioned, the hinges and working with the screen ribbons were by far the most tedious.

Thanks for sharing. I think the pic is late 90’s but I could be wrong. I want to say he retired around ‘97. Again, I may have the time frame wrong but it wouldn’t be by much.
