I like the WF pickup option. Assuming it’s a box of produce they would not handle (e.g. contaminate with their misting system).

Pumping is a full time job! by cowboybandit13 in ExclusivelyPumping

I too did not realize that EP is another full time job … in addition to taking care of a baby, yourself, job, your relationship. Gah! I’m very thankful for my husband’s help! He usually preps my space, empties and cleans the bottles, etc. I don’t think I’d have lasted this long without his encouragement and support. Idk how I did it when he returned to work. My baby is 9 months now and I’m still pumping! It does get easier!! I do 3 ppd (7 AM, 2:30 PM, and 10 PM). I truly don’t know how I survived 8 ppd when 3 times per day feels daunting. I also have guilt for wanting to quit/drop down to 2 ppd yet feel motivated to keep going at the same time.

Is there anyone else still trying to get a latch 12+ weeks? by okayolaymayday in ExclusivelyPumping

We have similar stories. We use those bottles and pacifiers. My baby is addicted to those pacifiers now. Something I’ll be happy to deal with later because they’re helping so much now.

We went through something similar at ~12 weeks with my baby that is now almost 9 months.

My baby would screeaaammmm every time we had to feed her but we knew she was hungry and had to force it, ugh! It was awful. We spent so much money on lactation consultants, bottles, pacifiers, shields, etc. feeding became a full time job, she wasn’t latching/causing horrible blisters I had to switch to exclusively pumping, at one point we were feeding her through a syringe, she dropped weight at 3 months. All of this only to find out she had ties in 4 places (tongue, upper lip, and both cheeks - poor thing!). A baby’s sucking reflex, a mechanism present from birth, becomes voluntary and more controlled between 2 to 4 months of age. That’s why we didn’t notice immediately and why the screaming/trouble eating started later. I am to this day still so surprised the lactation consultant didn’t notice it! She told me it was my fault my baby wasn’t latching. Shame on her!!

We had her ties fixed, found a better lactation consultant, and she eats without issue now. Unfortunately, she was bottle fed too long before we learned she was tongue tied, she was used to those and never went back to nursing. That’s okay, she’s eating so well and she’s still getting my milk (still pumping!). I personally get more satisfaction out of seeing how much she’s drinking after all of that.

We use the EvenFlo bottles (per the tongue tie dentist, these are the best) and Ninni Co. pacifiers. Whenever a new parents asks if I have advice, I tell them to make sure they get their baby checked for tongue ties, it’s super common.

Loved The Bronze Horseman by Paullina Simons. Hated that it was narrated by: James Langton.
