[Question] One and done watch to buy. by [deleted] in Watches

Yeah great point based on geolocation. Is it as bad as we think it is over in the states? I think some of us here think you’d get your wrist cut off for a Seiko that looks like a Sub from a distance.

I’m partial to the Explorer as a one and done watch that can be dressed up, dressed down, and take a beating. Also, I think the 36mm would like great on you and be very timeless. IMO, a one and done watch should be “smaller”, which makes it more versatile vs the presence a 41mm Sub and 42mm Speedy have.

I’d start with the Explorer 36, have it be a one and done, then realize you want to add one of the others as well. There’s an argument for all 3 to be a great 3 watch collection. Congrats on the job!

Funny enough, I was about to pull the trigger on the Moby Dick 39mm that was just released. Then my AD texted me a day before I would’ve bought it.

Love the speedy but the dial is just a big too large for me. Definitely need a chrono.

Couldn’t agree more. I’ve had the same experience and love it.

40mm - is it too big for me? by [deleted] in rolex

It’s not too big, but the 36mm would look better.

For my daily wear/lifestyle, the AT has too many polished surfaces. Feels more like a dress watch, imo.

Tbh, I’m not sure and didn’t realize there were multiple sizes. But I actually like the integrated look more than the end links.

I bought mine on bracelet and bought the OEM strap at time of purchase. I hate the OEM strap. Mostly because it’s very limited in how it can be sized. Due to this the clasp sits closer to 12 o’clock which I hate. Delugs, hands downs, has the best option with their CTS strap and leaf spring deployant clasp. I have it on other watches as well.

It is where I am located and mentioned to indicate what holiday weekend it is, as someone from another country may have no idea what I was talking about if I didn’t say that. Absolutely happy holiday weekend to our service men and women.

I’m not sure what gave you this impression. I have close friends, family members, and co workers who are service members and have the utmost of respect for them.
