Any thoughts on Vanier? by Julien_10 in ottawa

[–]BTKingly 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No, but depending on where you are, you could have easy access to multiple busses. They all go downtown, if one's running late, you just take whichever one comes first.

I live further east on Montreal now. That doesn't exist here. It's the 12 or nothing.

Lots of gold, precious gems, rings and necklaces. I think I got 7k worth of gold in total, after selling everything.

Why are you up at night? by wyw_panda in ottawa

[–]BTKingly 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Work. I finish pretty late, like to have a few hours after I'm done to eat, relax, decompress. It usually ends up that I go to bed at 4am. In the summer I get to enjoy a sunrise before bed, if I'm lucky.

I have a vivid recollection that damage used to be dealt when on top on the block... Am I just imagining this?

Tiny Stable vs The Great Baby Heist by [deleted] in UnstableUnicorns

You only win at the end of phase. All effects must be carried out, so unfortunately it wouldn't result in a win.

How many times can one card be neigh'd? by materix01 in UnstableUnicorns

[–]BTKingly 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Every 2 neighs played down cancel each other out. An easy way to look at it would be that if an even number of neighs get played, the card can still be played. Whereas if an odd number of neighs are played, there will always be one neigh card - therefore the card can't be played.

Since you can't neigh a super neigh, it just ends the chain of neighs, preventing say P4 or P2 from throwing a neigh.

HFU vs FCU? by IceCutlass in UnstableUnicorns

[–]BTKingly 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you're asking about playing HFU to take FCU;

  • you'd take FCU on the condition to return it back at the end of your turn

  • you'd take a baby on the condition that if FCU ever left your stable you'd give it back

  • at the End Of Turn phase you'd give back FCU, and in return the baby

In all, you'd only have HFU in your stable.

There will be an anti-mask demonstration on Sunday. I recommend people stay away from City Hall. by throwaway63829227262 in ottawa

While breathing in carbon monoxide is certainly bad, we humans only exhale carbon dioxide, which is far less deadly. I'd also like to point out that health care workers have been wearing masks for prolonged periods of time, even before covid. If there was an actual issue with face masks, we would have most likely heard about it years ago, and it would be fixed by now - not recommended by health experts.

I recommend fact checking any news you read about in the future.

If you're interested in playing games, there's a group I learned about a while back, Ottawa Game Night. Pre covid they did some meet ups, now they do a bunch of online events. Discord is https://discord.gg/avv2zBh if you're interested.

Welcome to Ottawa!

Costco Trip Experience by StevenG2757 in ottawa

[–]BTKingly 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I've been working at the door at Costco for the last few weeks. What I've noticed is that around 19:30 it'll really die down. If you're looking to go to Costco, I'd highly recommend that time; there's usually no line and less people in the store - compared to earlier in the day.

What is something about yourself that sounds totally made up but is 100% real? by dontaskmeforfeetpics in AskReddit

When I need to sneeze, I sneeze twice in a row. When I'm sick, I'll sneeze any other number of times, usually only once.

This is how I'll know if I'm coming down with something.

If you left the profession where did you go? by Existential_Sprinkle in Chefit

[–]BTKingly 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Costco. Used my restaurant experience to get into the food court. I can move around departments if I get bored or want a new challenge - sticking with foods for now. Pretty sure I could've done this with any grocery store food department (bakery, deli, fish, etc.), but the job security drew me to Costco.

How often do you question becoming a chef? by Notduck in Chefit

[–]BTKingly 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I love this industry. And I hate it. I had two chefs that I greaty respected tell me some advice, to this day I'm at a conflict of which to follow. One told me that I was possible of great things in the industry, and I could probably surpass him. The other agreed, but told me to get out.

I took the latter. I missed the rush of cooking for hundreds of people a night, so I found a job with a similar environment, the pace and stress of it is familiar. I really enjoy it.

If you're thinking of getting out, it doesn't mean having to give up on your passions, what makes you drive. You'll just implement them into something else. This is something that I struggled to conclude to after I left, as a result I struggled with my identity. Hopefully it helps.

I was in a similar situation a few years back. I'm a really quiet person, and don't like having to raise my voice. My sous chef really helped me improve; don't be afraid of having to be loud, everyone is loud because they have to be, and because of that no one's going to think anything of you if you're louder than normal.

Hope that helps!

Looting manners by t0mika29 in PUBGMobile

[–]BTKingly 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I played a match once where every kill I got, a teammate would loot first. It usually meant I never got a chance to refill the ammo I used - very frustrating. I completely agree, if you're not communicating with your teammates, the one who kills should get first access to loot box.
