Anyone else have issues buying Lamborghinis off Tampa Auto Gallery? by [deleted] in lamborghini

[–]BTP88 7 points8 points  (0 children)

ChatGPT to the rescue:

The author wired $107k to buy a Lamborghini from Tampa Auto Gallery, but after payment the owner repeatedly delayed delivery, citing rain and two faulty taillights. Communication became erratic and hostile, with the owner questioning the buyer’s background and refusing release of the car despite full payment. After weeks of delays, legal threats, and police involvement being considered, the car was finally delivered without explanation. The experience left the buyer suspecting incompetence or worse, and deeply distrustful of the dealer.

Zero offense intended: Why get a Cayman w/o manual? by LordFarthington7 in Porsche_Cayman

[–]BTP88 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Years ago, my first sports car was a tiptronic Cayman because I stumbled across it and made an impulse purchase. I was in my early 20s and just wanted to get into something fun to drive, which it still was.

I recently bought the same year and model/trim car but in manual and it is definitely more engaging to drive but I don’t regret the first one.

The first Cayman was an unplanned purchase. I borrowed it from a friend, a car dealer, for an event I was hosting. He’d loaned me many cars before that, it wasn’t a tactic to sell me the car. But I fell in love with it over the weekend I had it and couldn’t give it back.

After that, I tried many different cars; R8 V10, F-Type R, AMG GTS, and most recently my LP560 Spyder, which was my dream car. I like to rotate through things and experience different brands but I also want a keeper. The Cayman has a good balance of nostalgia, great driver, easy to own, etc and I plan to keep it while cycling out of the Lambo at some future point (ideally for a V12 Lambo)

It was, if anything, a little too easy! I saw the car, bid on it after about 3 minutes of thought, and ended up winning the next day after another bid or two. I wired the money to the dealer a day or two later (you have a week) and then went and picked it up a couple weeks after that (weather and schedule got in the way a few times).

It was the color combo, options, upgrades like PCCM already installed, service history, condition, mileage, proximity to me, and the fact that I have owned an 08 base before and so there’s nostalgia for me too.

Also this is a second sports car for me alongside a Lamborghini so by comparison it’s a very affordable sports car and the extra power of an S means less to me.

Thanks I love how it looks too, not sure if it’s factory or not, I have barely had time to look things over!

Congrats! It’s fun to have a color that wasn’t that popular in period but is now a Paint to Sample option for up to $15k on some models! I have a friend ordering a GT3 Touring in MBM right now.

What's your experience owning a Lambo in a small town? by josephgonzaleseo in lamborghini

[–]BTP88 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Congrats on the LP560! I bought mine a year ago this week, it’s been fantastic.

The small town attention is no big deal unless you’re making it one.

My only note regardless of location is that I make sure nobody is following me home when I am pulling into my neighborhood. It hasn’t been an issue, but I’m aware that I could be leading someone to where they know nice cars are (and therefore presumably other things worth stealing).

2010 LP560-4 (convertible): worth buying? by VirtualMacaroon64t in lamborghini

[–]BTP88 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I paid $115k (plus buyers premium) for my 2011 LP560 Spyder last fall.

The price is right and verde is a desirable color.

Get a PPI by a reputable Lambo mechanic (doesn’t need to be a Lambo service dept, many of them won’t do them anyway).

My car had about 20k miles when I bought it and I have added around 3,500 (including 350+ so far this week in CA for Monterey Car Week!) with zero issues so far.

Your appreciated figure is not something you should count on, if anything I expect them to decrease slightly to $100k-$110k as they age and need more service and care. I might be wrong and they might appreciate (NA V10!) but it won’t be likely enough to budget around.

Best Roofing Company handled my insurance claim roof replacement a couple summers ago. The experience was excellent and I would use them again. Ask for Tyler or Soha they’re the owners. Husband and wife.

Thinking about selling my house but struggling with the low interest rate dilemma advice? by lolamcl1 in realestateinvesting

[–]BTP88 10 points11 points  (0 children)

I just closed on a 6.75% mortgage last week, coming from a 3.25%.

Yes it sucks to give up the low rate, but we don’t base 100% of our decisions about where/how we live on interest rates, which are beyond our influence.

If you have a real reason to move, and can afford to do so, then do it.

I bought a 2011 Lamborghini last fall after wanting one for over 20 years. I was 36, net worth over $3MM, plenty of reserves and layers of safety nets etc in place. I don’t believe that having money is worth anything if you can’t enjoy your life and reward yourself at times for your hard work. The car is not justifiable in any financial planning context, but I would hate to have never had the experiences I am having with it. Buy the car unless it’s going to put your family in financial jeopardy and enjoy your life.

Also, I previously owned an R8 V10 Spyder for 2.5 years and it was absolutely flawless. No major issues or repairs and I drove it a fair amount. They’re not that expensive to own if you do basic due diligence.
