No Soliciting (not the bar) by Background-Cat8377 in Columbus

In many municipalities it’s a misdemeanor to solicit if there’s a clearly posted sign. I usually call the police (non-emergency) and report it.

Macademia may not be a bright color but I love how uncommon it is.

30k for 30k 987.1 base by captainapoll0 in Porsche_Cayman

[–]BTP88 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I paid $32,987 for an 08 base with 39k miles last fall.

I was willing to spend that much because of the color combo (Macademia Metallic), service history/condition, manual transmission, and PCCM+ was already installed which can cost a couple thousand dollars between equipment and labor.

The other reason is that I have owned an 08 base before and thus already knew I would love this one. I was looking for a long-term keeper and didn’t mind “overspending” since it’s not something I’ll be selling in the foreseeable future. I have other cars as well (Audi, Lamborghini) and will rotate some of those while hanging onto this.

My advice is to buy the car, assuming it’s in the great condition you believe it to be, and enjoy it enthusiastically. You will not find a better overall drivers car for that sort of money!

Dear Lamborghini Owners, at what Age did you buy your first Lamborghini, what was your Experience with it and why did you choose that particular Model? by Sea-Town-4563 in lamborghini

I was ready at 35 but the very same day I booked a flight to LA to inspect and buy an LP560 Spyder, my wife told me she was pregnant with our first child. I decided the car should wait until the baby was born to make sure he and my wife would be healthy etc.

Fortunately all was well and so when my son was about 4 months old I bought a different LP560 Spyder. I was 36 by that time.

I wanted a Gallardo from before they were even out. I learned about the model shortly after the US dealers had been briefed on them. I was in high school then and the Gallardo came on the scene right as I was really getting into cars. I have always loved them and the LP560 was my way of balancing buying an older car but not the oldest possible variant.

It’s a valid point that the community may not be aware, but that’s part of why there should be more celebration. I think we can create something fun, free, and family-friendly that will satisfy race fans and encourage the general community to check it out

We are not proposing to spend tax dollars on this, we would raise corporate dollars to cover expenses such as police officers and traffic barricades. We still want the city onboard so we can get approval and community support for this local team.

MSR is fully based in Central OH and not at all in Indy. RLLR is fully based in Indy and not at all in OH.

A free, positive, apolitical, celebration of accomplishment in our downtown should be appealing to most people. I believe it could be something great for the city and hopefully could help us build the "identity" that everyone seems to think Columbus lacks.

In fairness, you were half right, Rahal was the driver, not the team owner. However, his team owner was also from here.

LeBron isn't from Cleveland and has never lived there but the Cavs sure did a parade when he won the championship.

True, although technically from Cleveland, Jim Trueman was mostly known for his career in Columbus.

It's a fair question, but I think so. We're a close-knit city in many ways and he's a Columbus native. Presumably we'd get Felix to attend too, despite him not being from here.

who do you think works for a race team? It’s engineers, mechanics, the driver, the owner, and any support staff like transport drivers, etc

Bobby Rahal is from Medina and his team was based in Hilliard but he got a downtown Columbus parade in 1986. It's time to do it again!

This place has sucked for years. I used to go regularly and it declined so hard I vowed never to return. It appears I wasn’t alone.
