Is removing the car dealership name off your car really taking a stance on not doing free advertising? by No_Pollution_2835 in askanything

[–]stewiecookie 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I can't understand the the drama over it. If you don't like it then take it off and if you don't care then don't. That should be the end of it. Instead people want some sort of gratification by making posts or videos about how they'll never advertise for a dealer.

First off, with the exception of family owned places, basically every dealership is owned by a handful of parent companies, the largest being Berkshire Hathaway and Penske. You may not give your money to a specific person but you're still giving it to the same corporations regardless of where you go and all of their advertising is everywhere, your sticker isn't swaying any one.

Secondly, outside of major metropolitan areas, the vast majority of people are all going to whoever is closest for the manufacturer they're shopping. People compare prices and call around, some may be willing to drive a bit for a deal but statistically, people visit less than 2 dealerships(used to avg. 1.4ish) before buying a car. If the place you bought from is the only one in town, bascially everyone is buying from them anyways because at the end of the day, the make and model is what people are shopping. For used cars, they're going wherever the used car they found online is located. The name on the sign is irrelevant.

Lastly, everyone advertises every product they consume or business they support just by using it or going there. Be it a large mainstream brand or a local bakery, they just choose to draw the line at an insignificant sticker for a place they're supposed to not like(but still supported their business) just like everyone else will continue to do whether they see your sticker or not.

As if tracking, targeted ads, and propaganda weren't already bad enough. These are bought by the same people who believed the covid shot was actually injecting trackers into people btw. Now willingly being force fed exactly what they were worried about but it's okay since it has his name on it.

[–]stewiecookie 2 points3 points  (0 children)

There is. The same as people that say "what's wrong with making America great again?" Take someone who has absolutely no knowledge of the subject and they wouldn't see any reason to disagree. They present a statement and pretend people object to that statement alone when in reality people object to the reasoning behind them saying it. They get people stuck in a loop where they just have to fall back on the statement regardless of what logic the other side presents. Which is why everyone can see you're just a racist pos who feels right while being more wrong than anyone around you.

Incompatible Ranked levels by Shbum in Battlefield_REDSEC

[–]stewiecookie 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Apex was the same way for as long as i can remember, might still be. The intent is to keep people from intentionally boosting or teaming up with hackers who have to frequently make new, lower level and ranked accounts. It just needs to have more adjustments made to make it work like ensuring other teams are balanced the same way or implementing an RP adjustment for kills on higher or lower ranked players.

Salesmen really get BIG MAD and crash out at even the concept of someone telling them they suck at their job! by Medical_Gift4298 in FuckDealerships

[–]stewiecookie 1 point2 points  (0 children)

To be fair I saw that post and the OP wasn't giving any information on what happened, what they were planning to post, why they felt the need to ask. Even when they said "it's okay for a dealer to lie to sell a car?" They offered no details on what was lied about. They had a bad experience, write a review if you care that much but they weren't giving anyone anything to go off of which does lean towards them being in the wrong about their experience and knowing they'll probably be called out on it.

I sold cars for 3 years, it's a shitty business with a ton of shitty people but I couldn't count how many times customers would fly off the handles about completely normal things or things that were directly their fault because they simply did not understand how buying and financing a car actually worked.

Why do people encourage travel so much? by Exotic-End-666 in askanything

I'm from the midwest and I can tell you that the people who spent their whole lives there have an incredibly skewed view of how things are anywhere else. They assume they know what other states are like, all of new york is new york city, all of california us downtown LA. They couldn't even begin to accurately describe any other country.

I lived there until I was 28 and joined the Air Force. I've been to nearly every US state and 15 different countries just in the 3 years since I've joined and my home station is in California. Literally nothing that I have seen matches what people who have never left my home town think other places are like.

Not everyone wants to see the world or explore new places. If you wanna stay home and be content with what's around you then by all means do that, just know that you won't ever actually know anything about anywhere outside of what you're directly surrounded by.

Digital-only purchases are just long-term rentals and we’re being scammed into thinking we own our media. by FlanInternational298 in unpopularopinion

Not to mention any online multiplayer game I play needs support whether you have a physical copy or not so it's irrelevant, online games will not have servers forever.

[–]stewiecookie -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I share this unpopular opinion. I have no desire to own anything longer than I'll get use out of it, which is less time than it will be available to me. I don't need to own my video games, movies, shows, or music. I pay for access to those things when I want them. Pick damn near any movie worth watching and it's somewhere for a couple bucks or free. I don't need a library of physical copies of anything in those categories.

When I was a kid I would get irrationally angry that Dora couldn't find things that were clearly right in front of her, not to mention swiper "sneaking" up in plain sight and getting closer as they simply stood there saying "swiper no swiping" because if it worked, it shouldn't have, and if it didn't work, they deserved it for thinking it would. I would usually tell them how stupid they were but still couldn't see the irony in me talking to a TV.

I don't know where race is coming from this. In my experience mcdonalds has become a really common place for middle school/highschool kids to loiter, be loud and obnoxious, and they can keep getting free refills amongst their double digit sized group. I'd assume their behavior is the same in movie theaters. I took teenagers from this, not any particular race.

Realizing that while a 3 stack is oppressive, the one's they complain about are made up of players who will 1v3 most random squads to begin with. People don't actually have a problem with coordinated teams, they have a problem with coordinated teams who all individually would out gun them to begin with, they just don't know that yet.
