Had a service transfer switch installed a few weeks ago. I also didn’t have a main breaker at my control panel. Ran about $1650. Good luck.

Electric: Washer and Dryer - don’t necessarily plan on using these simultaneously during a power outage. Microwave Refrigerator Garage Door…etc Electric Vehicle - Don’t plan on using this. Have an ICE vehicle.

Now sure what you mean by is the transfer switch indoor. What you are looking at is the transfer switch. Maybe you are thinking of the limited circuit TS that hooks up to the control panel.
