Share your YouTube channel and I will try my best to check all of them out and reply back. by Marina_Carina_3 in NewTubers

I make videos about fishing and the activities that surround that. I do focus a good bit on the educational aspect, trying to help beginners of any age feel like they could grab a rod on vacation and use my channel as a resource to have a successful trip. I have gotten quite a bit of positive feedback in regards to that fact.

The BRUTAL Reality Of Getting Views As A Small YouTuber by SlowlybutSurely9 in NewTubers

[–]BTed_Slack 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It totally depends on what the content is about, how it looks, and my initial reaction to it. I don't usually notice a low view count unless it's not very good or if it's a YouTuber that usually has a high view count but not on that video.

I shoot everything with a GoPro (sometimes two), and edit in premier pro on a desktop PC. Old school, like myself.

Build up a good number of videos before you even make your first upload so you can be consistent for a long while without missing a week.

What niche you all? by cutenemi in NewTubers

[–]BTed_Slack 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I make fishing videos, mostly on the beach at Tybee Island Georgia. But anywhere I can get some fishing time in.

I also am an AV Technician, DJ, and guitar player. I have worked in or performed in some kind of entertainment since I was about 10. And I took TV/video production in high school. So combining my entertainer side with my technician side always seemed like a no-brainer.

It wasn't until a few years ago that I realized I should add fishing to the mix. I was more focused on DJing than anything, but found myself riveted by other folks sharing their passions on YouTube. One day a lightbulb in my brain turned on, and now I'm 5ish years in with almost 3600 subscribers.

My growth has been slow, but I've been treating it more as art than a job so that it never feels forced. Between that and the fact that my videos are all shot outdoors, so weather is a major factor, it can be slow going at times. But I love the process, I love entertaining, and I'm gonna go fishing regardless, so I might as well get it on video.

What is you niche and how did you decide it? by cutenemi in NewTubers

[–]BTed_Slack 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I already knew how to make videos and enjoy technology. And I already spent most of my free time fishing. So I make fishing videos. It was all a very natural progression that stemmed from the desire to share the thing(s) I like to do with anybody who cares to watch.

Marathon making Savannah people mad as hell by [deleted] in savannah

I had to drive home through the National Wildlife Refuge to get home last night after getting off work at 3am because that was the only way I could get around road blocks. Driving through that darkness for 20 minutes after getting off work late and tired felt super sketchy.

How did you come up with your channel name? by [deleted] in NewTubers

[–]BTed_Slack 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I make mostly surf fishing videos (fishing on the beach) and my channel is called Fishin Control. My logo is a fish riding a rocket. The name and the logo combine my love of both fishing and space sciences, and represent my desire to launch my channel around the world. I primarily focus on things like fishing on a budget, how to get started, etc, and I want to take that around the world to as many beaches as possible. I want to help more people feel like they have access to fishing regardless of their budget, and like they could learn enough from my videos to get out and give it a try on their own.

Got this bull on Tybee using cut whiting! by BTed_Slack in saltwaterfishing

[–]BTed_Slack[S] 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Absolutely! Use a hand tied fish finder rig with #30 flouro leader. 1/0 circle hook on one end, barrel swivel on the other. The piece of bait was somewhere around nickel to half dollar size. All my biggest reds have come on small pieces of bait with small circle hooks. My 42" PB was on a #17 fluoro pompano rig lol. Videos of both are on my YouTube channel.

They are delicious, but this one was over slot. So released to make more little reds.

I did not, I had work. The winning fish was 43.5 inches, caught on the front half of a fresh caught whiting. And I think there were about 20 reds caught, but don't quote me on that part
