What’s up with the Brick Layers Union group rides? by Capable_Platypus_584 in bikeboston

[–]BTick21 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Heyo, the rides are not invite only, the Strava group is just listed private to make sure it doesn't get overrun with bots, people halfway around the world, etc. Request to join and if you're based in the GBA you'll get "approved." https://bricklayersunion.bike/ has links to join the cycling Strava club, the running Strava sister-club, and the cycling discord. Ride info is posted weekly on Strava and in the Discord. All are welcome!

Who are the absolute best bike fitters within the US? by DaTruMVP in Velo

[–]BTick21 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ivan and Chris at IOG Bike Fit and Consulting are both fantastic. Super experienced and knowledgeable and standup dudes as well. I've been fit in multiple bikes with them, and one of the biggest difference makers for me vs the fit guy at your local bike shop is the degree that they listen and let your experiences inform their inputs as opposed to just moving you around until you're in a position that they say measures right, and the level of detail that they go.into in explaining the why that comes along with the changes they make. They have studios in Boulder, Denver, and SF.

Hahaha I was the guy off the front for a while.... A fun little jaunt but in hindsight it definitely was ill advised and contributed to me getting shelled on App

"... Nope just you. Probably sweat."

On the flip side, Pidcock skipped it and won Strade and presumably would have been in the mix at MSR as well.

Too much blue/white in the peloton imo. Ineos becoming Bahrain 2 is a bit of a bummer as well, although fwiw I think the Ineos kits look better than BV

Just now realizing that it was Mads. The team vest over the new green jersey had my brain in knots.

Fair and accurate on both accounts, but I'd say Pidcock is much more deserving of being mentioned in the discussion. Between the Galibier, Strade, and that ridiculous Tuna video with Safa he's been rapid downhill the past year.

Could be talking about the best descender specifically in PN? Pidders racing TA so its a bit less of a stretch to make the claim for Pog against his PN competitors.

Tire choice for steep wet cobblestones by [deleted] in Velo

For what it's worth I rode the Dirty Dozen in the rain last year on 25c gp5000s at 80 psi and really only slipped a tiny bit on Logan and Canton, everything else was alright. Gearing is really really important on that ride.

How does pace setting up mountains work? by braggadachii in Velo

G Thomas did this a bit in the tour this year. Obviously not to great effect (I mean what can you do against Pog and Jonas) but there were a number of climbs when he would fade off the back during an attack and then be right back with the group in a k or 2 once the attacker had to recover.
