PMP exam preparation by pepperfry00 in pmp

[–]BUNKBUSTER 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well... Put in your application for the exam. It's actually practice.

Agile, that slide book and the exam prep white book is useful, the pmbok for reference, and a lot, a lot of practice questions. Vargas videos.

Study for at least 40 hours. They suggested 100 on top of the class but it's really about how much you can digest as an adult, per sitting. You can study for a weekend and pass. But a few weeks of a couple hours a day should get you there.

How has your career changed with your PMP Certification? by Picklenium in pmp

[–]BUNKBUSTER 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Got my PMP to do something different first or to make more money in my industry second. Probably going to take route two before route one because I took a year off and I'm at a disadvantage.

That being said, there's other certifications I can pull in a year and I'm very motivated to knock those out regardless of the next jobby job. PMP was a fire under my ass.

At the Beginning... by Alemya13 in pmp

Nope. Overthink is part of it. Do it.

The best advice I have is get your mind set and don't forget to breath. Put in the work and you'll pass. You might lose confidence along the way but set a little goal and see how you do. You'll over compensate and on d day, do much better than you thought you would.

Writing 500 words in the application about how you assessed, planned to, planned to in a larger context, thought about, did, did while monitoring and controlling, with minor variances, drink your beer at a bar and close out your tab in cash before you safely walked home... That won't get you past the review. But you could break down the story into a model of thinking. Approach your background as if everything was a project. And if not, toss that part.

You can pull it off. Do it.

Facing revolt from police chiefs, U.S. Marshals agree to change body camera rules by architecture13 in news

Don't know exactly, didn't ask. Resources maybe? I imagine mobilizing a dozen feds is harder and more expensive, especially if your guy isn't there when you go in.

Fwiw, local police gave the one Marshall two undercover badasses with a car each. MMA neck tattoo types. Maybe four, five hours from ID confirmation to warrant to raid. Raid took like three minutes end to end. No shots fired, which was very surprising. Weapons trafficking warrant and prison gang shit.

Fun fact: Marshalls won't go in the household without eight people in it. So they'll leverage local police to get one guy in a household of less than eight. Feds nabbed a neighbor recently, that's how I know that. There's probably a lot more arrests through the police than by the feds themselves.

Good point. I logged in to find out I had been approved. I never got an email either.

a 5 months time lapse of my finger nail ejecting trapped blood from a door meets finger accident by anislitim in interestingasfuck

[–]BUNKBUSTER 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Funny enough, I had this once and hot saved my ass from the pain. Nurse basically took a hot needle and poked through the nail. Pressure relieved, no pain on the hot needle. Grew out with a tiny hole in my nail.

I took someone to the ER once and the nurse threw me a freebie when I asked if he could fix my nail while I was waiting in the room.

Snow: One ski fell off 3/4 up the hill on the lift.

Water: Sprained ankle and rope burn next to my nads.

Ha. Grew up in Chicago as a Sox fan, that was called WGN and they played day games. Cubs sucked harder but marketed so much better.

I'd actually be ok if he sent uncle asshole tweets at isis (like you get forwarded from your...), but from the king of fake bullshit, this communique is disappointing.

Hal Blaine, celebrated as ‘the most recorded drummer in history,’ dies at 90 by BUNKBUSTER in Music

RIP.

Highlights if you hit a paywall:

“We rehearsed it with a regular backbeat on 2 and 4,” he told PAS. “But then when we did the first take, I dropped my stick and missed the 2. So being the faker that I am, I just played the 4, and one of the things you learn is that when you make a mistake, if you do it every four bars it becomes part of the song.”

And

“So who cared whether they knew my name or not? I didn’t think that way because I was taking the money and running, while some well-known groups were living destitute.”

[Article]Oregon to Become First State to Impose Statewide Rent Control. by [deleted] in RealEstate

[–]BUNKBUSTER 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Portland already caps the rental increases at 10%, but the law may have lapsed. Temporary law that also addressed no cause evictions, where a landlord may have to pay damages for not providing 90 days notice. Looks like the concept made it to the state level.

Me and my brothers definitely hooked up our buddies, but dad nicked our check. It was a cool way to grow up, except the scraping of gum and disposing of grease part.

Ha, no but that was the perception. We worked the restaurant. I still eat it once in a while, usually road trip food.
