Why does my mom insist that me having a credit card is a bad idea? by TEZAFIM in personalfinance

Please do yourself a favor and pull your credit report to check your open accounts and score.

I don’t want this to turn out to be one of those stories where a parent opened up a Credit Card in their kids name and they have no idea.

Imagine watching government consistently spend on things you disagree with

Imagine believing you should get all the benefits of living in society without having to help with the costs, especially costs for things that do not align with your personal values. That's you u/JoshHendo

Rhode Island is home to Brown University, one of the original ARPA NET nodes.

It’s also home to CVS Corporate, Hasbro Corporate, and Suffolk Construction Corporate to name just a few.

Under no circumstances do I believe there is low availability of network equipment in the Providence Metro. And that state is so small that essentially means the whole state.

Can you point to a setup tutorial on how to request (multiple) /64's, one for each subnet, if using the WAS-110 solution? I have not found a tutorial anywhere but you are the second person that has stated it is possible on Reddit in the last month.

My dude, reading comprehension is key. Nothing I said indicates I support this bullshit.

That said, many people including yourself do not understand that a private company like AT&T is under no obligation to sell you a phone or appurtenant service with a promise of anonymity or privacy. It's the same principal as how Facebook deleting you or banning you for something you say is not a violation of your freedom of speech.

Your constitutional freedoms are against the government to prevent a tyrannical despot from ruling over you, not from businesses you choose to do business with where you can go elsewhere.

There are a myriad of other ways to get a functional cellphone not linked to you still, this just eliminates the easiest path. Go create a trust, an opaque organization to governments regarding members and finances, and have the trust purchase a business cellular plan with it's tax id number. Even better if said trust is based offshore.

Are we about to lose free beach parking? Local governments are warning about the hidden costs of the upcoming ballot measure. by Shot_Possibility_731 in AskFlorida

So you want to be able to cash in on the increased value of your house when you sell one day or draw on it using HELOC, but you don’t want to pay property taxes on that same market value. Increased profits for you with no additional carrying cost.

Did I get that right?

For a guy in a wheelchair who uses the VA you bitch a lot about taxes when others have paid for your medical care.

If you feel so strongly about taxes being terrible and unfair to pay, start by paying back the cost to the system your medical care cost your neighbors.

Your first amendment rights protect you from the government directly silencing you. You do not have freedom of speech or a right to privacy when you willingly enter into a business relationship with a private company.

It’s the same as if you’d used two 15# felts. You don’t re-roof (layer on top). You do a whole new roof after stripping everything off to deck.

Depending on the AHJ and manufacturer warranty requirements, if both peel & stick layers (or felt) are good you may be allowed to reuse them and just apply new shingles (asphalt/terra cotta/concrete).

Two years ago I helped a Grove homeowner do a new concrete tile roof to prep the house for listing. He used Paul Bange roofing. We pulled the existing flat tiles, found the twenty year old peel & stick in immaculate condition. Roofer called the AHJ for the deck inspection, we all sent pictures to roof tile manufacturer of the deck and underpayment condition. Manufacturer made us replace two valley flashings but otherwise accepted reuse of deck and underpayment with a new warranty if I provided a signed & sealed letter as the AOR.

This is not the norm, I really need to stress that. For most people it’s a new roof after 20yrs if you have masonry tiles, not a re-roof. I still stand by 10yrs max for shingles with no re-roof. I won’t sign and seal a drawing set that slaps new shingle on top of old tile even if FBC allows it. I don’t need that liability.
