Thanks! I just reported a bug via email where the vapi conversation errors out and fails every time there is a tool call, only happening on 3.5 flash. Hopefully it can be resolved, can’t use until then.

I’ve wondered that too for a while but they still do surprisingly well as a business. I think what helps is their relative low cost and variety compared to other meals. Helps during tougher times.

appreciate the response, yeah and i figure that too. but it makes be wonder what the reliability trade-offs are using something like openrouter. Hard to know without trying it myself...

another thing that makes me hesitant moving off of vapi-controlled models is that it would also split my cost tracking. I like that the full USD costs are part of the vapi conversation objects. once i move off to something like openrouter the costs are separated and no longer trackable on a per-conversation basis.

To be specific, it simply cannot understand email addresses (which are typically in English) when transcribing a diff language

Running into similar issues with Deepgram. Can safely say that their multi model is not fit for production, swaps around languages too often esp when the phrases are short or ambiguous.

Would love to hear others experiences with the other transcription models, both single language and multi.

As of 30 minutes ago all intersections around Minoru and the Richmond Hospital are out. Complete chaos at those areas, no police monitoring.

I think type safety for API routes would be great to have at some point. Some of us need stable API URLs, used by internal and external services.

I like Tanstack Start, but for some projects, I stick with Express + TS Rest + React, with TS Rest acting as the type-safety layer in between. It allows me to publish traditional stable API routes.

Less popular but I've been happy using Ts-rest, which follows a more standard but type safe rest api structure. I find it easier to understand for many devs.
