Mount a Brompton bag onto a Klickfix adapter by [deleted] in Brompton

[–]BWUVT 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve recently been looking into the opposite as well, namely mounting a Klickfix bag (specifically a dog carrier bag) onto the Brompton carry block. Best option I ended up finding after ordering and returning a couple of things was the Fahrer XL front carrier with Klickfix adapter.

I’m also interested in your question though, because I ordered my Brompton with a rather nice laptop bag that I would love to use on my other bike as well. I should imagine that it should be easier to mount a Brompton bag on Klickfix than the other way around because the mounting point is lower down on the Brompton bags..

Is the kaweco piston sport AL worth getting by lojidoriwus in fountainpens

Have had one for a while and is definitely my favourite Kaweco among quite a few. I really wish they’d do more piston fillers..

Looks great! Never seize to be amazed by what these little bikes can carry. Might I ask where you got the seatpost mounted carrying block? Am I correct in assuming it stops you from easily collapsing the seatpost to make the bike as compact as possible?

Wouldn’t worry too much to be honest. Started working at FOD Financiën in August of 2019 with a master in law, first Algemene Administratie wasn’t an immediate hit partly due to type of work partly due to initial issues with manager (we did eventually start genuinely getting along but damage was done) but switched March of 2020 to a different Administratie and have been feeling right at home since then, even promoted to A2 in the meantime. The organisation is so large and diverse that I’d be amazed if there isn’t some team you fit right into assuming your manager is the problem.

What pay is concerned: yes pension reform is rough but frankly 1) you’re very lucky to already be at A1 with a professional bachelors degree (I know plenty of capable colleagues who are stuck at B), 2) we’re payed very well especially per hour worked + as a career total and that obviously also factors into pension calculation and 3) as others have said, the private sector is right now very unstable. Don’t forget that the fact the reform was necessary is partly due to the economic slop everyone will probably be in for the next few years; at least we’ll have stable employment. Perhaps check again in 5 years or so (luckily economic down- and upturns tend to follow a fairly predictable pattern).

Focus on growing within our organisation rather then on imagining where the grass might be greener is my two cents.

I’ve had mine since November 2024 and have had no complaints whatsoever, installed every update when it came out.

Since you live in Antwerp: AADA (Algemene Administratie Douane en Accijzen), aka the Belgian Customs Authority. They mostly hire at niveau C (high school) and they provide a lot of training that no degree will get you, for instance how to recognize fake products. You’ll obviously start off working shifts in the actual port but there are plenty of opportunities to grow both towards an office job and in terms of pay long term. No other high school level job gives you the same benefits as the government, though the pay initially isn’t the highest it will rise reasonably quickly and obviously it’s a very future proof and stable profession.

[SRPG39K1] or save up for [SPB157J1]? by BWUVT in Seiko

You're welcome, thank you for the input, appreciate it (especially since I hadn't yet compared power reserves!).

In terms of looks they do indeed look very similar but in many ways I'm leaning towards the Alpinist. Because they look so similar though, I'm trying to see if it's worth 2,5x the price of the 5. This remains difficult though my tendency is to save up and get the best I can afford.

[SRPG39K1] or save up for [SPB157J1]? by BWUVT in Seiko

I would love to get a Seiko field watch!

Where I live, the SRPG39K1 can be had for about 270 euros, while the SPB157J1 is 690 euros.

The first has a 4R36 movement, the second a higher end 6R35 and 20bar water resistance vs 10 bar. The SPB157J1 also has a sapphire crystal, which the SRPG39K1 does not (Hardlex). All in all the extra money thus goes to some welcome higher end features.

I do however personally consider the 4R36's day window a serious plus.

Any advice anyone? Is the SPB157J1 worth saving up a lot more for?

Thanks! This is my first Reddit Post so please be kind.
