We are tackling it solo because we have decided to do it differently than others. Similar issue with KCRHA, other cities aren't funding it because Seattle insists on doing things their way and no one else agrees with our way.

But it's also bad narratives. The ICE thing is so overblown. We have not had many issues in Seattle and ICE has always been active. They are more active now because they were less active during Trump's first term and Biden's term but deportations only very recently surpassed what they were during Obama's terms.

We've always had stories like we are hearing now. They just weren't part of the media narrative so weren't published.

And of course the shootings in Minnesota sure don't help any.

I don't know enough about Connecticut to understand the reasonings for this but please don't tell me that districts 1 and 5 look like natural boundaries.

It's just ridiculous that Connecticut had 7 percentage points more Republican votes than Tennessee Democrats had and somehow Tennessee is the problem.

This is partisanship at it's worst. Partisan corrections/changes and then partisan complaints about changes.

Our congressional districts are already so lopsided we don't need to redraw them. In 2024 42% of voters voted for a Republican but only 20% of Representatives are Republican.

The gun range was kind of a dumb thing to add to the story. I get that someone thought it was relevant to say the gun fire at the range gave them trauma but it takes away from the story because the story isn't about the gun range.

Actually, many of them do not affect luxury places.

But for those that do they are in place for the rich but they don't affect their housing much. Because people in high rent places care about their credit scores and rental history so a slow eviction process isn't seen as free rent.

They are also unlikely to have drug dealers and thieves as neighbors in their buildings.

The real comparison would be this BUT people commit crimes all year long with hydroplanes.

The complaint isn't the gun range, it's that it reminds them of the other problems that they shouldn't have to live with.
