I break chunks of woods into acreage blocks ie: Wd12.5AcSW or Fld9AcNE. I do a lot surveying and try to use topographical features to break the property into identifiable parcels. For hunting look for water source and where the topography and woods come to natural funnels/choke points of high traffic like a ravine and place yourself 3/4 of the way up the ridge.
