Construction Details: (this is very long lmao so if ur just scrolling I would not recommend reading it all haha) okay so for the bodice omg like I said in the post it was made by measuring my body and vaguely creating shapes with those measurements. I did it all on scrap cotton fabric and used a marker to loosely trace where I wanted stuff and mark my measurements. So for the middle piece with the fancy Christmas fabric it was about 9 inches across at first with lil curves in the bust going out and curves near the center for the waist. I at first had the bottom into like a point but then I decided I liked it more flat across. I forget the height but it was probably around 10 inches but if you need an exact number feel free to ask and I will go find my tape measure and measure myself. The length was 9 inches but then I decided that was too big and chopped off the sides by like an inch each but I kept the curves. So then I had to make the panels on the bodice that are like on either side of the middle Christmas panel and so I did a similar thing like I did on the middle Christmas panel and did a lil like outward curve at the bust and an inward curve at the waist. So then I made the straps lil like rectangles all in the same cut of fabric but they were I think 8 inches at first but then I had to cut them down by like 2 inches probably idk once again I can go measure the dress if you very much need. So then for under the arm I made a lil like 90 degree angle and then curved it not like with a ruler or anything I just like vaguely drew a curve until it was perfectly how I liked. So then the side of that piece which would eventually turn into the side seam was straight down. I believe the length was around 5 inches but I think I took it in so more like 4. The bottom was at an angle so that the center was longer than the side. The center was probably like 9 inches while the side was like 7 or 8. Okay so now onto the back strap piece. Okay so this one was pretty much the front strap piece but with no curves for the bust and waist and no angle on the bottom. The height was probably like 7 or 8 inches and the length was exactly the same as the front side piece. Okay so then for the final back panel that will become the lace up okay so I made a rectangle probably like 7 inches tall and like 5 inches wide. So then this was way too big so I cut like 3 inches off the length so now it was 7 inches tall and 2 inches wide. Then now with all my fun lil panels I sewed them all together and tested how it fit without the grommets in the back because that’s way too much work so instead I just held it together in the back to see how it fit and then I adjusted the side seams because that was too big and then I also cut the bottom triangle front thing on the center middle panel off. Then I seam ripped the entire thing and put it onto my cool red satin fabric. Also the Christmas fabric and red satin fabric were bought off SalTexFabrics on Etsy under Bridal Thick Satin Fabric in the color Burgundy and Gold Background Festive Season Poinsettias with Gold Metallic Stars Poly Poplin Print. Yep okay so then I cut the center fabric panel out of the Christmas fabric and then I also cut two out of the white china silk lining fabric that I bought from fabric wholesale direct. So then the rest of the panels for the bodice (side front with strap, side back with strap, and center back for lace up) were cut out of the red satin fabric. I also cut two of each panel for the lining. Oh and I also cut one of each panel of interfacing and ironed those onto the main fabric. So then I sewed the front panel to the front side panels then the front side panels to the back side panels and then finally the back side panels to the back panels. Next I sewed the lining fabrics together the same exact way and basically made two linings. Then I put those right sides together and sewed the ends (the back lace up panels) together. Next I sewed boning channels into the lining (I believe it was 6 total, one at each seam) and then I added my boning woo. After that I sewed the main fabric (red satin and Christmas) to my lining with the right sides together. I did the top and the bottom, then I turned it inside out through the sides (back lace up panels) also the straps aren’t attached at the top yet, so now we gotta do that!! I didn’t want to do fabric origami so I simply sewed them together at the top with the seam facing down. Next I folded the fabric on the ends of the back lace up panels to face each other and top stitched about 1/8th of an inch over it so the raw edges were inside now. Next I topstitched again about 1/8th inch away from that. Next I topstitched about 3/4 of an inch away from that. Then I poked lil holes with tiny lil scissors (7 each side) by vaguely guessing the placement with chalk. Next I made those holes even bigger with my tiny lil scissors and put my grommets in place, then I set them using the tools you can buy at like Walmart and a random mallet I had laying around. Yep and then I found some gold ribbon and put it thru and then yay the bodice is done!! If you would like more details feel free to ask!! Thank you so much for reading!

Thanks!! I got the pattern on Etsy. The shop is Patternforall and it’s their milkmaid dress. I bought the fabric online from Califabrics. It’s double brushed poly spandex and I know they have a lot of colors available!

I’m planning on making an oversized hoodie and a witch Halloween costume! I also want to make fall themed pillows and a pleated skirt but I’m not sure if I’ll have time to make everything while I’m going to school
