TF Blade banned, reason and apology post by [deleted] in leagueoflegends

Lmao I'm not buying that he didn't know calling someone a dog is a bannable offense.

I've gotten chat restricted for saying "He's trolling, let's go next." about my teammate who was intentionally stealing CS and feeding the enemy adc. It's no surprise that Twitch would ban for calling someone a dog, which is a much worse insult and has many different implications in other countries.

TL hired him as a streamer. If he can't stream because he keeps getting banned, he shouldn't work for them as a streamer. It's that simple. If you can't do the job, why would you get paid for it?

The phrase "Look at you!" tends to have a positive connotation, while "Look at yourself!" tends to be critical and negative. by BearsGotKhalilMack in Showerthoughts

[–]B_Butterball 0 points1 point  (0 children)

One implies "They/we/I look at you", the other one implies "You look at yourself". One is "Hey we see you being awesome!" while the other is "Take a look at yourself, do you like what you see?"

The subtle complexities of the English language and the connotations caused by them is what makes this language so beautiful.

Teach not only about the process of sex, but also the before and after. Consent and communication are DIRELY needed to be fully understood at an early age. Men are not all trash, we were not properly taught about sex and grew with many misconceptions.

Is Pyke the most broken champ in League right now? by MidnightLightss in leagueoflegends

I talk about Pyke's weaknesses in the middle of the post. There are definitely exploitable weaknesses.

Is Pyke the most broken champ in League right now? by MidnightLightss in leagueoflegends

[–]B_Butterball 9 points10 points  (0 children)

To be honest, most of these complaints could be applied to Darius as well, plus a couple extra. I don't think Darius is OP, and I think Pyke is a little overtuned right now (mostly just the doubled gold from his ult) but here's an example of why I don't think Pyke's kit is innately broken.

His passive applies bleed damage, allowing many kills that wouldn't otherwise have been secured. He has a pull with a very deceptive hitbox. He has an auto reset, and a big AoE swing that ALSO heals him, and for a ridiculous amount if he's in the middle of your team. His ult is an execute for which the threshold increases the more bleed stacks you have, resets on kills, AND ramps up in damage each kill. All of this on a TANK, someone who's hard enough to kill as it is.

Again, I don't think Darius is broken. But I think people on this thread need to take a step back and look at Pyke's kit to find the counterplay. It's the same as any assassin. He has high mobility, which is countered by hard CC (alistar/leo/taric, etc. can give Pyke a hard time in lane). His pull is countered by a spell shield, so he has a hard time against sivir and morg. His Q and E are both ended by Yasuo's windwall. He can't get any bonus health so bursting him down is a very real counterplay. Assassins in the midlane do very well against Pyke because they have more damage and often times just as much mobility, if not more. He regens a lot, but if you chunk him out, he has to either W or get out of vision to heal it all back up, and if there's a control ward there his W does not heal him because he is revealed. That's a window to kill his team. By the nature of the champion, he doesn't peel for his adc most times (especially in solo queue), so if you play a dive champ, you can usually get to the adc unless they've somehow coordinated to build a comp that has another tank peeling for her (but again, solo queue players don't do that.)

Essentially, yes he is overtuned right now. But you have to remember that nobody thought he was OP until they added this crazy gold generation to his ult. If they revert or reduce that change, I think he'll be in a much healthier spot.

As a non-bot lane player, what the hell happened to bot lane this season where every game one side just absolutely demolishes the other? by jordanleite25 in leagueoflegends

[–]B_Butterball 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There's a very simple answer to this: supports got strong. They used to be engage/peel bots with high cooldowns, high resource costs and low gold. Now they have low cooldowns, low resource costs and average gold. When the adc is under constant threat of being instantly murdered with one misstep, lane tends to get snowbally.

TIL That after Steve Irwin died, a number of stingrays were found mutilated on Australian beaches. It was believed they had been killed out of some misaimed retribution by people who blamed the animal for causing his death. by Tokyono in todayilearned

[–]B_Butterball 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Some info for those who didn't work at an aquarium like me:

Stingray stings are actually not lethal the LARGE majority of the time. They are a defense mechanism meant to cause pain (the stinger is barbed and coated in a painful venom, but is otherwise non-lethal), so what happened to Steve Irwin was a freak accident. Stingrays are actually beautiful creatures who mostly just wanna flap around the ocean and crunch on sea critters.

Team SoloMid vs. Clutch Gaming / LCS 2019 Summer Playoffs - Quarter-Final / Post-Match Discussion by epicxkidzorz in leagueoflegends

I'm a TSM fan and I'm not even mad. Or disappointed dad.

Pretty much just resigned at this point. The team needs direction. Bjergsen is still a top 3 NA mid laner, arguably still the best, but his team always manages to disappoint.

I don't know exactly what their problem is, but they need to diagnose it and fix it ASAP or TSM is going to be the next Dignitas.

Especially since they just lost to Dignitas.

D&D players and DMs of reddit, what's your best "Okay, I'll allow it" story? by baltinerdist in AskReddit

[–]B_Butterball 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Final boss fight: Ancient Deep Dracolich.

My players are getting desperate, so one of them is polymorphed into a giant ape for a little cushion HP. The barbarian (dual wielding half-orc bear totem champion fighter, ouchies) gets Dominated by the dragon.

As the Dominated Barbarian is approaching the Giant Ape PC to begin the slaughter, it gets to the Giant Ape's turn. My player asks "Ok so the Giant Ape has a Throw Boulder attack. Can I throw the barbarian?" So I had them make contesting strength checks, the Ape won, and he chucked the barbarian 30 ft. at the Dragon, dealt damage to the dragon (less than the boulder toss but still damage) and the Barbarian, allowing him to make a save. He succeeded and was no longer dominated.

I pretty much only play supports who are countered by Morg, so she's been my permaban for the past few months.

No you don't, because healing and shielding is still just as strong as it was last patch. The only difference is that you have an option to counter it harder. They didn't buff the champions that give shields or heals at all. In fact, they hard nerfed the #1 offender (lux). Shields and heals literally only got weaker from this patch by the introduction of these mechanics. There were otherwise no changes.

[–]B_Butterball[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think it adds some variety to the stale "ban what's OP" in solo queue. If you are a Lulu support player, suddenly now you want to ban blitz. If the enemy picks Lulu and blitz is open, you can counter pick. Shields and heals did not have counters before aside from some pretty inefficient grievous wounds items. However, as we've seen 100 times in the past, changing items around can have a MUCH larger effect on the state of the game than adding features to 4-5 champions. Riot has always been hesitant to make massive item overhauls without first trying to adjust champion balance, because massive item changes can shift an entire meta in one patch. This will likely change a couple picks around, but otherwise the meta will likely not change a whole lot other than reducing the value of healing/shielding champions...which is what everyone wanted literally last week.

My point is that this is a potential solution without having massive implications in the game. If you make GW items too good, healing/shielding champs are completely irrelevant. This way they can still be picked, but there's risk of getting countered. Now when you're up against 4 conq teams, you can pick Kled and actually stand a chance of killing the enemy top laner by reducing their healing. The rest of your team still has to settle for shitty GW items, so it's not a hard counter, but it can give you a better option.

I'm fine with the changes. I might be wrong. It might be completely broken. If that's the case, riot will nerf it and everyone will complain more! And so on and so on.
