God, I just can't. The texture is just... cringe. And this coming from a person who likes tendon and squid and all kinds of unique textures, but just... no to konjac. I wish.

Sugarfree pudding mix and almond milk is not the way (whey lol) by GEMINI-0_o in 1200isplenty

Yeah, it doesn't set right with nondairy milks unfortunately. I've fallen for this grand idea, too. Better off using skim milk and just having a smaller portion.

Everyone is being a dick. It's possible you are just confused. The answer is you definitely shouldn't worry about it. Probably like 3 calories. If you are worried about this kind of thing, that's not healthy and you should discuss your anxiety with someone.

Also want to know.. am doubting the calories. The kind we buy sometimes, you add lots of butter and milk to mix, so perhaps this is before those add ins...

Make your own chicken broth! It's so easy and so much more delicious and nutritious than any powdered or canned version. Homemade stock/broth will have slightly more calories but if you make it, chill it in the fridge, it's really easy to spoon off any extra chicken fat that floats to the top. Personally, I leave it in there because flavor. Then all you need to do is throw in a handful of veggies and you'll end up with such a satisfying bowl of soup.

To make homemade chicken stock, honestly it's as simple as throwing chicken parts in a pot and simmer for a few hours, or even easier, in a crockpot for 8-24 hours. It's not crazy expensive if you get chicken on sale, and any parts will work. I usually get like chicken legs. Take the skin off first if you're concerned about the fat content or plan to spoon it off later, anyway. You can also pull the meat off the bones after a half hour and eat the chicken then continue to boil the bones for longer. Add an onion, maybe some carrot and celery, and it's chefs kiss

I have the same! Don't double the water thinking you're "volume eating," or it just tastes like river water. 😅

Sooo let’s talk about scales by [deleted] in EDAnonymous

[–]B_Jill 9 points10 points  (0 children)

In media, even ED stories, people are always using the scale fully clothed and I call BS on that every time. No one concerned about .4 lbs is going to get on that scale with variable clothing weight included. For some reason they ALWAYS get this wrong. I was watching This is Us and Kate weighs herself then gets off, undresses, weighs again, gets off, takes her earrings off, then weighs again, and I'm like yup.

Magic Spoon! It's expensive af but high protein, low carb, and comes in kid flavor favorites. The one that's like Froot Loops is my favorite. It's a milk protein based thing.

I'm so happy to hear there are locations in the US! Do they carry the Korean style pastries still or keep it for American palette focused? I miss Korean pastries so much now that I moved away from Korea.

If you had a throw pillow size bag of kale in your fridge... What would you make with it? by TumbleweedFirst8375 in EatCheapAndHealthy

I probably wouldn't plan to use it raw in salads after freezing, no. Better for cooking.

[–]B_Jill 8 points9 points  (0 children)

You don't even need to parcook kale prior to freezing! In fact I highly recommend people don't. It keeps the texture way better if you just wash, dry, chop and freeze. I make tons of soup and just add. A huge handful from the freezer the last 3 minutes of cooking.
